Hi,
Just want to ask the following questions : 1. If got fraud and we block the card, do we need to pay for that fraud charge? 2. If block, Maybank will issue you a new card? 3. To get cash back for petrol, can it be done at the counter?

QUOTE(Human Nature @ Jun 18 2015, 10:36 PM) 1. Depends on the bank's investigation and the evidence. So one still need to pay for the fraud charges first then only later the bank will refund. If is really a fraud, but the bank said not a fraud, how to complain?

Is it possible to say apply Maybank 2 primer (free for 1 year). After 1 year, cancel the card, apply again 1 month later to get 1 year free again?
That way, don't need to pay yearly fees.

QUOTE(chiahau @ Jun 24 2015, 10:32 AM) After you cancel, got 6 months cool down period before you can reapply again. And you can only do it once probably. Next time you try it again, bank would probably know your trick and won't approve the card for you? . Got business don't tell me bank don't want to approve?

QUOTE(Gen-X @ Jun 26 2015, 02:50 PM) I just posted below at my facebook page:WTF is wrong with Maybank, I just got back home and found out from you guys that effective 1st August 2015, the once a upon a time wonderful Maybankard 2 Card AMEX 5% weekend cash back has been downgrade to DINING only!!!
Luckily I did not accept Harimau Bank's offer to be their Credit Card Specialist Head with designated Grade X1 back on 1st April 2015. Or else you guys may assumed that I have something to do with the downgraded benefits of Maybank's credit cards. If you miss the story and really got nothing better to do, click here to read my April Fools Day article.
Well, 5% cash back for dining not that bad as most of us take our family out on weekends.
So for those of you guys who need a credit card for Petrol and Groceries, the good news is Maybank still have 2 other cards that will give you 5% cash back.
Click the link below to read my review of the FREE FOR LIFE Maybank Islamic MasterCard Ikhwan Platinum or Gold:
http://generationsxyz.blogspot.com/2014/10...ard-ikhwan.html
and if you need FREE access to Plaza Premium Lounge (also please refer to my earlier post below), check out my review of the Maybank Visa Signature where the annual fee is auto waived with RM30K spending:
http://generationsxyz.blogspot.com/2014/07...re-another.html
You might also now want to consider AEON Watami Visa Credit Card that will earn you 3% cash back for any transactions subject to terms and conditions. Click the link below to learn more:
http://generationsxyz.blogspot.com/2013/11...-card-that.html Anyway, those of us who have been holding Maybankard 2 AMEX since 2011, some of you would have earned more than RM2K cash back in the last 4 years Any card you can recommend for utilities?

QUOTE(kenjixx @ Jun 26 2015, 08:16 PM) Haiz... I am among the people that get this card recently ... I think I will keep using Amex until something significantly better available... right now there's not much choice for for people like me that barely reach 2 card requirement Just use UOB one card for petrol, Maybank Islamic MasterCard Ikhwan for groceries, AEON Watami for bills.

Wondering how many will terminate their card come August 1st and if many terminate their card, will Maybank feel the pinch?

QUOTE(Wongchoy @ Jun 26 2015, 08:46 PM) I'd say quite a lot will terminate, esp those earning below 36k pa, who is subjected to the two issuer ruling , who wants to maximize return from their 2 cards, now that this card will not be able to fulfill that. Well if you look at it this way, if 10000 people quit, and this 10000 people usually get cash back of RM600/year, Maybank is "getting profit" of RM6,000,000/year.

QUOTE(jkngo2003 @ Jun 27 2015, 08:31 AM) why i cannot see the notice of no more 5 percent rebate notice? can someone show the link to me? thanz Cause maybe it is not ready for public announcement. They pull it off so that few people will see it, so fewer people spread the word. That way fewer people will cancel the card come August 1st. Then only on August 1st, they put announcement. That is just what I am thinking. Maybe true, maybe not. This post has been edited by Ramjade: Jun 27 2015, 08:36 AM

QUOTE(Wongchoy @ Jun 27 2015, 09:44 AM) They won't be able to "profit" those money though. All these while they charge AMEX merchant 3% of their transaction. And from July, this figure will drop to 1%. That 2% lost is astronomical! Imagine the value of AMEX transactions per day in Malaysia. How much is it worth? I am sure it is millions . Giving back 5% and getting income from 3% .That is already a loss for them. (Only on weekends.) However on normal days, they gain 3%.

QUOTE(cybpsych @ Jun 27 2015, 12:37 PM) i was thinking... bill payments via online could be benefited from CIMB CR or PBB VS (if income qualify)? not exactly sure .... if i max my amex cashback on July for Unifi bills, i literally dont have to pay for about 8 months... Cimb card only 2%. PBB VS cannot apply. Not rich enough. Haha... Heck, I don't even own a credit card yet.
