Try find another deeler near your place. Which part of Sabah/Sarawak you are in? How's Umobile coverage in east Malaysia?

Glad to know they ride on Maxis 4g. Previously the coverage is really terrible in Kuching. While waiting for opportunity to travel to west Malaysia, maybe just try any other deeler you can find if happen to go around Sabah or Sarawak.

You will have to submit refund request to Maxis to get back the excess money. Not sure if the refund request can be done online or need to go to Maxis centre.

Curious on why some telco charge SIM fee and Processing fee for MNP such as DiGi but Hotlink did not charge a single cent.

Deeler usually charges for sim card. If you go to a proper centre should be no charge.

You have to take out the sup line as stand alone then port out.

If anyone is facing the same predicament as I am, here’s an update.

Can just request online refund.

https://www.maxis.com.my/en/refund-request/

Usually have to wait billing cycle, then ur account will show final bill of excess if any. Then refund takes 4-8 weeks they said but I got mine after 2 weeks and they will remit directly to ur chosen bank account

Postpaid maybe a bit complicated because of contract etc. But without contract I think can already try port out after 1 month.
