public transport like MRT is not cheap either, from Nana to Taksin station it cost 35 baht per person.
take the cab, it's very cheap.

Suk11 to Grand Palace, it cost around 120 baht per taxi,
Suk11 to Airport --> 250 baht

U don't need to change to MRTA. From Asoke u can the train straight to Mo Chit Station (Last) n when u get down u are at Chatuchak http://www.bts.co.th/en/map.asp.U only have 4 hrs.may be enough for shopping. Bring along a cap. It can be very hot.
18:00 - Taxi back to suk11 (Is it advisable to take taxi at this hour? Will it be jam? And roughly how much is the taxi fare back to suk11 from chatuchak?)

Yes, is jam. Again take BTS.Cheaper. Forget abt taxi

Yes, u can or just take a cab .Quite near.Actually u can forget abt Suan lum if u have gone to Chatuchak. Things are more cheaper in Chatuchak and more things. But if u wanna just jalan jalan then fine.
22:30 - Back to suk11. Is it better to use Taxi or take the BTS and MRT? If taxi, how much is the fare?

08.30 - Nana station to Saphan Taksin station
- Exit 2 to head to the chao phraya Express boat

Don't take tourist boat. just take the boat like the locals..may be 20THB only.Cheaper.

09.30 - Take the river taxi and stop at Tha Chang Pier - Walk to Grand Palace

Becareful when u r there, the tuk tuk drivers will walk to you n tell the palace is close for the day due to some important function n wanted to take you for a ride. Just ignore them
11.30 - walk to wat pho , some 1km away from Grand Palace. Then take the ferry from Tha Tien Pier to Wat Arun Pier.

10.00 - I wanna go to the platinum Mall and MBK. Anyone has any idea getting there by BTS? I get different info from the wikipedia and the BTS website. I just need confirmation. I dont want my mom to walk far.

Is abt 1km but no more than 2 km from both station. U decide. But for my mom she is a morning jogger.So no problem for her

Platinum Mall and MBK is one end to the other and of almost the same road. MBK is near to Ratchdewi station. Once u hv finish Platinum Mall, take taxi as u may lot's of stuff to carry.MBK

yeah. dont take the tuk tuk unless you know the distance and the price roughly. try not to be so touristy about it either. or nego a price before getting on.

Hours earlier, the PAD and airport authorities said they had reached an agreement to resume flights from Suvarnabhumi international airport, although there was no mention of the blockade at the Don Mueang domestic airport.

I agree with Spishl that cab is cheaper in Bangkok. Last time when I took the cab. they drive through a complex maze of building that took like 1/2 hour from Rama 9 to Yaowaraj and going through all the jams. They charge us only about RM10.

I think now its a good time to change the money before going since MYR against THB should fetch a very good value. I will be going on 31/01/2009 for 5D4N.I am thinking about taking the package that include hotel + tour + meals from kerissel which they advertise like RM500 for 5D4N. Then I was thinking about going to the Samuen Damuek, the floating market which takes about half day visit on Day 5 since my flight will only depart at 17:10pm(BKK time). According to most website, the trip is from 7:30am until 14:30pm. I am afraid I cannot make it to the airport on time.
The Damuen Saduek trip cost about RM68 per person if you get it at the local tour in Thailand. But if you book from Malaysia, the minimum cost is RM98 per person.

I am suppose to fly this sunday, 7 Dec, KL-BKK-Taipei. Went to Thai Airway office (they are not answering any phone calls), they gave me two option. One is to fly with another airline on 7 Dec, and for return MUST take thai airway. If BKK airport is not open by then or they have no flights back to KL, then I have to wait in taipei.

The second option is to cancel the ticket and get a full refund. So i picked the 2nd option. I dont' want to get stuck in Taipei.

If I heard correctly, Bangkok Suvarnabhumi airport should be opening by Thursday or Friday.

My company canceled my original flight back to malaysia via thai, but apparently almost 97% (from what i can tell) of flights into malaysia via MAS, SIA, EMIRATES, QATAR are fully booked.

Only flight i got is with Etihad via Abu dhabi.

Those have flights out of thai....would they give priority to those that were stranded in bangkok since the demo?

yeah probably. but they still might be selling some tickets. but i think all those that already have tickets just rock up to the counter and get a flight. tickets probably damn expensive if you just wanna buy it on the spot.

I with my wife (Local Thais) went out to restaurant, club and other place...My wife specifically told me not to give any tip.
