My bro and friends just changed their afternoon flight to Vietnam instead; am not sure whether it's free or they have to top up. Because I just received a SMS saying that they would still be flying but to Vietnam.

Actual procedures I'm not sure. they should be in Vietnam now.

check out their insurance clauses on their website. there should be some clause like force majeure or flight disruption or something like that. shouldnt be that much to read. look at the text. i dont think you should rely on the air asia people. they arent insurance salesman so they dont know the exact details. well i think anyways. hahahah.

but what about the trip cancellation clause that is listed in their air asia goinsure thing? it says there its covered? so what does 'trip cancellation mean?" if someone shoots down the plane? doh.gif

man air asia really $ucks a$$ if they arent gonna give you money back for this.

Never buy insurance from AA when u purchase yr ticket as they are not comprehensive enough. Moreover, if u changed date u have to buy again, the earlier one u purchased will be forfeited. Better get a separate travel insurance. You can inform yr agent when you change date.It must be before you travel (anyway, do check with yr agent regading this).I have been purchasing AHA tvl insurance whenever I tvl (only overseas trip). They are quite complete. And of course no travel insurance will cover riots and flight cancellation/delay due to riots. Read carefully the clause when u purchase the travel insurance.

for those who are expecting the occupation of the airport to end soon well good luck. for those of you who have flights in the next week or so i think you should just approach air asia and get a refund or change flight or whatever. apparently even if people leave the airports the airport will not be able to open due to important security and IT checks.

btw.... the author of the article doesnt know how to spell airport. check the headline..... doh.gif thai journalist? huhuhu

if it is transit they will probably divert you to the other airports in the area. like the one MAS, air asia, firefly are all using. also they might transit in phuket or something. this mainly affects those that want to actually land in bkk i guess.

i think Bangkok is safe.. they wont harm the tourists.. The problem is.. dunno when are they gonna resolve the problem... i need to go BANGKOK on 11th January 2009... uwaaaaaaaaaaaa

Okie.. anyway, need to plan my itinerary.. Need some expert to help and comment and get some guide..

Day1
11.50 - Arrive in Survanabhumi Airport
- Taxi to suk11 - check in
14:00 - shopping @ chatuchak
- Take BTS at nana station to Asok and change to Sukhumvit MRT.. then to Kampheang Phet station -
18:00 - Taxi back to suk11 (Is it advisable to take taxi at this hour? Will it be jam? And roughly how much is the taxi fare back to suk11 from chatuchak?)
20:30 - Going to Suan Lum Night market
- Nana BTS to Asok, then change to Sukhumvit MRT then to Lumphini stadium (Am i correct with this route? Please comment)
22:30 - Back to suk11. Is it better to use Taxi or take the BTS and MRT? If taxi, how much is the fare?

Day2
08.30 - Nana station to Saphan Taksin station
- Exit 2 to head to the chao phraya Express boat
09.30 - Take the river taxi and stop at Tha Chang Pier - Walk to Grand Palace
11.30 - walk to wat pho , some 1km away from Grand Palace. Then take the ferry from Tha Tien Pier to Wat Arun Pier.
12.30 - Wat Arun
1.30 - I want to go to the chinatown. And it said that i need to stop at the Ratchawongse Pier. So, from Wat Arun, where do i take the river taxi again? Do i need to walk to Tha Chang Pier again?
5.30 - back to suk11. Will need to use taxi. Anyone know how much? Will it be jam during that hour?
7.00 - dinner and shopping at sukhumvit area

Day3
10.00 - I wanna go to the platinum Mall and MBK. Anyone has any idea getting there by BTS? I get different info from the wikipedia and the BTS website. I just need confirmation. I dont want my mom to walk far.

Platinum Mall
- Nana station - Rajchathewi station , is it walking distance? Far or not?

MBK
- Rajchathewi station to National Stadium (but need to interchange at siam station for silom line?)

Need to be back to suk11. Is it advisable to take taxi or BTS?

2.00 - Back to suk11 to claim our luggage and take taxi to airport and fly back home.

Please help me!!

Thanks
Cyn
