Hi everyone  biggrin.gif

Im' traveling to Bangkok this coming CNY with my boyfriend.

Stay at Sukhumvit for 7 days.

I need some advice on the MUST GO PLACES in bangkok that will not lead too far off from our trail starting point which is Sukhumvit.

So far there's too many places i want to visit, but i don't wanna waste too much time on something thats not really worth it. Checked on some internet sites but still i would like some insider reviews that have been to the place smile.gif

Right now the list of places i would like to visit is as per below (if you have any recommendations/suggestions.. do add up to my list  tongue.gif )

1. Caberat shows (not sure where is the best and near to sukhumvit)
2. Floating market (where is the best? read some reviews Damuen not very good?)
3. Chatuchak weekend market
4. Siam aquarium (issit worth it to visit?)
5. Zoo (issit nice to visit?)
6. Palace
7.
8.
9.
10.

Also one thing very important, my bf plan to get on ground tour packages when we arrive in bangkok. i.e. like those half day tour / 1 day tour. If you know any good tour guide services or packages, let me know also tongue.gif

Reason why we didn wanna book online is that online will be slightly pricey compare to when you get it from there and also we don't wana get cheated too tongue.gif

Thanks!  cool.gif

U can book tour at your hotel's tour desk. However, if you look at the city tour or half day tour, it is almost u can reach there by yourself by BTS/MRTA. D only place u probably won't go by yourself is Gemstone shop!

And to all lady shoppers, besides clothing BKK has a great range of undergarments, good quality & you may not find d design in Malaysia. And the best thing is, they are cheaper than Malaysia. The brands are like d usual brand that u gals probably know such as Wacoal,Triump,Vanity Fair, Guy Laroche, etc....U can get it at places like Central or Robinson. Ask them for discounts being a tourist. U got to show passport. Sometimes they have got sale, like you buy above certain amount...u get lucky draw. And d lucky draw is like the following item u will get 20%,so pandai pandai lar. And u buy certain amount u will be able to claim VAT at d airport. Find out at the shopping complexes cos you need to fill up some forms @ d customer service centre. So again u get some money back...untung lor. If you go with friends, gather all the bills to claim VAT if u shop in Central or Robinson.Don't claim individualy.(Not applicable if go shopping at Platinum or Pratunam)

Secondly, other cheap things u can look out is Loreal Range of product..cosmetic to hair care product, tooth paste, clorets, energiser battery (rechargeable battery)....these some of the things I find it cheap thumbup.gif . Probably u guys must be thinking why there,Malaysia has it all. WELL since m there I will just stock up lar. I will usually go to BIG C jalan jalan. Their Hypermarket is quite interesting compare to ours here.. tongue.gif

Depend on you just allocate 1 full day each for Damnoen Saduak & Ayuthaya & probably 2 days to pattaya...Bangkok probably 3-4 days depending how long you will be there...

Damoen SAduak can just be a half day trip go early morning . Ayuthaya a day trip. Pattaya, u may want to stay longer perhaps 2 days.

It depends on what time u reach BKK, if it is late arrival, overnite in BKK then go Pattaya for 1 or 2 nites then next day. Then when u come back BKK (again depens on what time u reach BKK), go to Ayuttaya, the next day early morning go to Damoen afternoon. U shud leave around BKK places of interest last cos u dun wan to rush from somewhere far to catch the flight. However if your trip falls on weekdays as well as weekends, then u might want to replan if u plan to go JJ market

Perhaps from Airport u check whether u coudl get to Pattaya straight by bus or van. Then back on Friday. Or from Pattaya, see whether u go go straight to Ayuthaya in d morning (take package tour) then back to BKK in d evening from there. (m not too sure whether suggestion given to you workable or not. U got to really check it especially trasportation to all these places and must preplan) On Sat morning go to floating market.u will be back by half day trip. With d rest of the half day - u can go to china town , wat arun, wat po, grandpalace(go chinatown last) so that U can enjoy dinner there or if u dun want the temple trip, can go to shopping at pratunam & platimum (Note both places close by 5-6pm) . Then on sunday,go to JJ market u will probably spend there till afternoon or evening d.

On monday, u may not have so much time for more shopping as u got to leave yr hotel by 3 pm otherwise u will be caught in d jam. U have privillge of shopping from 10 am till 2 pm only. Do note hotel check out time is 12 noon. Ask whether they allow late check out at 2 pm for free.otherwise pack yr luggage n leave at the receptiion or bell boys.Make sure u stay hotel near BTS, easy for u to travel around.

When go bangkok, remember go for thai full body massage. damn cheap.

place to recommend is in Siam Square, opposite Novotel hotel. (Walk down from MBK, directly opposite siam paragon), Soi 6. Get down from Siam Square BTS.

Few are nice one. 250Baht for 1 hour full thai body massage. Got facial and foot massage. Damn cheap lo. Its like RM25 for 1 hour. But the one i got was an aunty who is damn strong...muscle also pain.

I think the one i went to was this, (not sure) but the price is the same as this. The lady boss can speak cantonese/mandrin/thai/english ...so gooding
