No problem, it will help to reduce the frequency of paid service for thorough cleaning.

You use extra filter no need to do thorough cleaning at all ?? The cooling coil totally shield from dust built up ??
*
Ya already 5-6 yrs from new Aircons never did chemical wash or water spray on cooling coil fins at all, never blocks on coil fins layer, even internal layer as well, just need to remove out fan blower for spray on jet water for clean out that so, so my FCU never dismantle down since day 1.

Dunno how save money, just use and forget.
That is why additional filter is a great stuff can be shares with you guys

The dangerous thing such as PCB portion, if never remove down and accidently spray on water just said bye bye, for indoor unit.

I have the similar big plastic bag to catch the dirt water for cleaning. Brought it many yrs ago from live depot in 1U. It come with the hand spray and cleaner solution. The solution is use up now. And I just use any detergent.

But the spray is a hand spray which quite tired to use. I get a 2L garden pressure pump from ACE. The 1 with the hose type. Easy to use and stronger. It can reach into the rotor fan too and blast the dirt out from the fin.

Oh... you already have it. Easy to clean ?? Mr DIY got sell the foaming spray can type. After sprayed then use pressure pump to cleanse it. Saw Youtube tutorial seems pretty easy. hmm.gif

The foaming type don't need water to rinse it. Spray the foam, wait few minute and ON the air on. It will flow down to the drain and out to the pipe. But the fan rotor remain dirty which cause the airflow reduce.

For easiness, it is moderate. It will take 2-3hr to complete. More to intensive cleaning. If you have 3 aircon, it will be whole day job.

I am interested in this item.
How much is it if 2 of us group together?
This is good for cleaning the blower.

I clean the cooling fins with water and a paint brush every month.
The dirty water will flow down the drain. No issue here.

I also clean the blower with water and brush, but the dirty water dripped onto the floor.
I used an old bath towel to catch the dirty water. Still got a lot of dirt drop onto the floor.
I don't clean the blower every month. Only when it is full of dirt and the air flow is low.

This item is a good replacement to the bath towel to catch the dirty water.

Let me know how much in total.

You can reduce your aircon dust on the filter and condenser. Seal all your window and door gap. Specially window to the outside. It also help your room cool faster and reduce your bill.

My aircon filter even 1mth have very less dust accumulate.

Yupp. All the above already done.
During daytime cannot seal the room. Too hot until some of my floor tiles expanded. Have to remove them and install new tiles.
Must open room door to let the air circulate.

why not just take out the rotor and clean that? thats what i do. take out is 3 min. cleaning outside 5 min, put in 2 minutes - done. just brush a bit the coil while its open and wipe the plastic also - add a few minutes. all in less than 15 minutes.

Actually I had mention before, not all Aircon design were able to removable out.

Like some fan motor is hide below PCB box compartment, once you remove it then baru can access to screw out for fan blower connection joint.

well as true as that is, i am also concern that the older model is using an older refrigerant R22 compared to the newer R410A which i understand is more environmentally friendly. Plus i feel my older aircons are also making my electric bill high.

So any thoughts will be very much appreciated.

Yes ah, that's why we recommend u change the extra filter every 3 months. The outcome of fine dust trap at xtra filter or cooling coil are same, also lead to high consumption, the only different is when the xtra filter blocked, i just change the filter for less than RM5 (I whole piece can make 4 sheets), but if your cooling coil blocked, you need to dismantle and cleaned, after dismantle sure your gas need to refill, cost will be at least RM200, so you choose lo.

I recently bought a subsale studio unit and would want to change the position of the Air con as it's totally not ideal. Any estimation on how much it would cost?

Sun light still ok, just avoid to place on afternoon sun area.
Will be waste more energy than place on facing into East / west area
*
ok, thanks for the info ya, then is ok, cos my master room facing to east, means sun will be at back (west) during afternoon. =)
Expose to rain, no issue, right?

I bought 1.5k+ for that. However mine is premium model, is u put 1 step down to deluxe model, only 1.4k, which still feature richer than MEQ non-deluxe model.

No issue, the outdoor condenser is proper design for expose to sun, just some cheap brand will be slighly getting rusty due to air, sun and dirty.

Just avoid to place at afternoon sun, the compressor will works harder to compare in cooling area.

MHI compressor = MIC
ME compressor = MIJ, that is why ME more expansive
