Wildside, I think you mean that WoW dumps too high of a population within one single zone.
But there are also other factors to consider:
1) We in East Asia take more hops to get to Atnt and WoW.
2) Atnt caters alot of users so it's itself congested.

Btw, does Planetside maintain their own servers? How's tracert look like?

I think your planetside is hosted by another provider, that plus the fact that WoW subscribers are more than planetside I think...

And yeah, the cable's been fixed a long time ago smile.gif

Are you sure the line is back to normal? Sure its less laggy now but 1.2k pings are still not acceptable. Everything has a big delay and the biggest problem is the positioning of ur enemies is all out.

If the cable wasn't fixed, you guys would be getting more than 4seconds of latency...

The problem of getting 1.2k pings on your usual 219.95 is not related to the underwater cable fault.. that particular fault has yet been rectified.. nor do we know what actually causes it tongue.gif

Mine is on 219.95 and gets below 1k but mostly around 930k...still sucks anyway....but gone are all the lag spikes experienced earlier. So, the line really seems "fixed" under TMnuts eyes and I honestly don't think we 219.95 users would get the the below 500-600ms we were getting previously.

mostly below 1k? so good. my 219.95 ip today can't do jack. go in see 2.5kms then freeze so i alt f4. if u ask me i'd say we were back to square one.

also, i noticed logging into wow also slow again liao, so this means 219.95 ip just went down the drain again.

Tried at night? The ping can shoot up to 2k This really sucks big time, 2 months!! WTF is streamyx doing huh? Few days ago things were back to 400 for an hour or so, how do we explain that? This is plain stupid. Streamyx web is still showing that they are having problems, so its not fixed, called them up and fired the operator which I really dint wanna do that, and he doesnt want to give me his contact number, so Im going through the SAME process, wait for them to call me tommorow. This is bullshit, I hope some news paper reporter comes and interview me. Not long ago streamyx called for a servey for their services, I gave them a D, now i regret it, I should have gave them an E vmad.gif vmad.gif vmad.gif

Well, there can be various reasons why you get 2k ping.
first of all, have you checked your own pc and make sure no other networking applications is running in the background(intended or not intended? virii? updated that latest scan lately? patched to the latest windows?)

Their streamyx website is not often updated on the fly maybe it's delayed?.. if the problem is really on your side you could do yourself a favour by doing some checking on your own first instead of relying on tmnuts to come help(if they do come help you that is....)

There's also the problem is congestion at the area where you're staying at. Have you check with other people staying in your area to see if congestion is a normal problem? The bottleneck could sometimes be at the DSLAM itself .. if you live with a lot of anime freaks in your neighborhood.. well.. good luck tongue.gif

I think the 219.95 connection to AT&T network and blizzard's server hosting center.. is still having some kind of a problem.. maybe its rate limited.. maybe it's mpls.. maybe 218.x is meant for business users who gets higher priority but due to the high number of home users they let it spill over to the 218.x as a temporary measure while they work on a permanent solution...

Its too bad we don't get a tmnet official forum...ISPs should have them ... and should have responsible moderators and all that..(or does one exist that I am not aware of ?)

my testing result :

2pm today in Kepong area :

219.95 = 2k ping
219.94 = 1.5k ping
218.111 = 2k ping
218.208 = 2k ping
60.48 = smooth.

so, if you get the 60.48 IP, NEVER LOOSE IT!

No lag spikes... Just consistently high latencies around 1.5-1.7k

How depressing! sad.gif

According to the tracert to us.logon.worldofwarcraft.com now..the ping is exactly as it was before the nationwide disruption. Maybe they have been getting complaints about the packet loss in the previous route and decided to revert back to the high latency, but stable one.

Sigh really hope this is temporary..tmnet is a piece of **** always taking the easy way out. My friends ingame are already having full blue class sets and im stuck everyday with freezes and/or consistently high ping. Sick of this...what to do?

218.208 was doing well. low pings and no packet loss. Yesterday and day before it was great. Don't understand what the hell they're doing over there in TMnet. Bunch of amateurs.

Now:
218.208 1000 ms, low packet loss.
218.111 300 ms, high packet loss.
219.95 500 ms, high packet loss.
Can't get 60 past few days.

These are based on tracerts. Not in-game.

Looks like I'll be going back to CS. *sigh* I hate playing with S'porean kids.

This stuff is nothing new. Everyone here is facing the same problem at the same time even with very different computer configurations for each user. Such as, reports of an improvement in latency and the 2k pings at the same time with 219.95..users...and that one day nice latency...I am sure everybody remembers that day... Besides nothing in my PC has been changed at all since I played WoW lol. With my computer its always playing WoW, no downloading stuff anymore except patch day but downloading files won't hurt? It has been 500-700ms on day one till the DM patch. A few days before the DM patch, latency was around 1.0-1.5k...so its equally bad...

You know, thinking about this...I am very sure Jaring Broadband will be a much better alternative. Streamyx in my area may be oversubcribed and they probably don't upgrade the DSLAM they had for 5 years now but with increased subcription rate of 300% in the area. But then again 219.95 users are nationwide and even those in rural areas experienced the same ping as those in Klang Valley. So what gives?

TMNet just sucks.....plain and simple.
