I think its most probably from the said TMNET disruptions. Remember we don't usually have latency over 800 but right after the patch on our time Wednesday morning, we can't log on that much and those that manages to log on acknowledge about the lag and stuff. Then on the very next day, TMNET does a maintenance to its US link and I guess thats badly affects our main link to the WoW gateway.

I have never ever gotten above 800+..usually hovers around 500-600ms with an occasional 400-500ms lvl range and I live in Subang Jaya. And each time the latency is bad, there is always the news on streamyx about maintenance and upgrade. So I hope everything will work out this Monday onwards...and since they said its an upgrade, it will be cool if we can stay in the constant range of 400-500ms....means yellow bar all the time...

PLEASE DO WORK cause I can't play with latency above 2000ms and sometimes even getting 5000ms lol.

Ok. today is the 29th..way after their maintenance period and its still lagging about 1800ms~2200ms range...no difference at all. I can tell no one in the game except me...cause I party with another warlock today and he has casted corruption, curse of agony and about finished his immolate spell when I just finish casting my corruption spell.... sad.gif

Ugh...tell me how am I going to be able to solo and defend myself in the PvP server when this happens? Btw, before the 24th maintenance, I was also getting the latency at around 800ms~1400ms at some certain point but then stabilize at 500~700ms on average.

Same 400-800 yesterday. Strangely, my connection is better now before the 2k period.
*
Yesterday I got like 334ms...it was so good....you know the feeling when you press on the key to cast and then cast timer immediately appears..without the 2s delay I have experience for the past week...but...I am back to 2k ping now..what the heck? time now is 3:45PM in Subang Jaya...am I alone now?

Geez...I'm stuck at a constant 3500-3700 ping. Is this fun or what? tongue.gif

EDIT: 50180exp points earned running at near 4000 ping! Now THAT's what I call grinding thumbup.gif
*
Man, I am giving streamyx until tomorrow to fix the damn problem. The fact that tmnuts upgraded 512kbps users to 1mbps so that this particular people won't change to other ISPs. I am giving scremyx until this weekend to fix the damn problem...or else its bye bye to them and I am off to maxis broadband. Its totally unplayable now..5k ping is outrageous.

lol, let us switch to Time Broadband just for WoW  rolleyes.gif

i will be very please if TMnet tell me that the maintenence on international link is still going on otherwise switching to Time Broadband might be the best choice  unsure.gif
*
Hmm TMNet will be slow in doing their maintenace part but everyone here seems like there are willing to give another Monday for them, so I guess its pretty reasonable. Besides, the fact TMnet did a maintenace is a good thing cause before the 24th, I think I was getting around 1k~1.4k ping most of the time in high pop zones, so It was already lagging. it was funny though that during the maintenace period my ping has jumped from 2k consistently to 3k consistently now right after the day of yellow bar latency heh.

It is pretty unlikely that it is AT&T fault cause everyone else will be lagging if that happens. Anyway, this is really getting frustrating..for 2 weeks I haven't been doing anything like level increase to my character so I am way behind my guildmates now which is not cool. The latency itself is also getting worse. I think its most suitable to change the thread title to 3k pings! heh

If steamryx refuses to acknowledge that its their problem, so be it. I won't give a damn with them and move over to other ISP...still things are easier said thatn done lol cause only Maxis Wireless Broadband is available in the area and the start up fee is RM500..not good....

It will totally suck without WoW. I really don't know how to get back to my pre-WoW life if you ask me...serious! I will be damn frustrated too at the very least if I am being forced to leave WoW as a result of the constant bad latency and not because the game gets boring that I decided to quit.

i think this issue should go to paper. It will push streamyx to get to action.

once, i did involved in telekom meeting on a big technical issue (my company was a contractor that time), their higher level people take all these poor services thing very very seriously.

the problem is (with us currently), their high level people doesn't know (i think). for them, they see that broadband bandwith is good and all is ok. they didn't know there is 1-2 sec delay, which is not really affecting surfers and downloaders, but affecting people who involve in online activity. so, the point is, to make higher level people know.

if properly written (this part i suck), the star will love this  tongue.gif call it 'concern from online community'. maybe they will see it as minor things since it's a game, but we just need to inform them this has becoming lifestyle and big industry or evolving market, so malaysia should not be left out for something like this - just because of bad service..... just to get their attention. something like that... told ya i'm bad at writing this  tongue.gif

just my 2 silver  tongue.gif
*
Yes, that the problem. As long as general surfing speed is ok on hotmail and others very few people will take notice of the slow ping so people won't really know. The other time hotmail took minutes to load everyone was talking shit about streamyx and it only took them over the weekend(2 days) to fix it not the 2 weeks and counting that is now. Maybe someone can post to Jeffooi.com or The Star InTech which is pretty good as it will always guarantee a response from the TMNet side.

Sucks...I tried the method to disconnect and reconnect the phone line. no such luck even after the 30th attempt on trying to get 218. It looks like its pre-programmed for 219.xx too. This really sucks. Btw, there are no chance that cybercafes won't be using ISP other than streamyx right? Cause if there is really a cybercafe around that have constant 218.xx IP address given to them...I WILL GO THERE no matter what.

I think the difference lies in the klj-odsy01-srp1-0.tm.net.my [210.187.135.13] gateway and the brf-odsy01-srp1-0.tm.net.my [210.187.135.1]. From the traceroute posted by people in the forums. Those that pass through klj experience only 300ms lag where else the one passing through the brf hop always experience 2k-4k lag...like the one in my house. As of now, I am currently playing in a cybercafe in SS15 and it went through the klj link...been playing for 4 hours now and constant 400-600ms on average(funny how when my house is so near)....Maybe the 208.xx passes through the klj hops that greatly reduce lag but I think we as a consumer should be able to demand to access this route
rather than to call to those lousy TMNet support staff that knows nothing of the current status of their maintenace.

I contacted the TMNet support staff and they told that under major maintenace it only takes 2 weeks for everything to be back to normal. However, this current situation we are facing is going into the 3rd week, so its really no excuse for them

Wait.... are they still doing maintenance? Why all the conflicting statements? What about 'tmnet not being able to solve the problem and it's AT&T's fault'?
*
Thats the thing with TMNet staff not knowing their own products...I think its safe to say that they screwed up their own routing system and they currently have no idea on how to fix it. No such nonsense like AT&T blocking TMNet at all. This is ridiculous when the latency is all good in one side and totally sucks in the other. Anyway, JS Internet has the same latency as mine but the internet cafe behind Public Bank in SS15 has an average of about 450ms in game. Right now I am back on my own PC with a f***ing latency of 3.5k..good god.... I have spend so much on a new PC just to play WoW. It will totally suck ass if I have to spend some more money in a cyber cafe like that.

Anyway, I was pretty satisfied since I make good progress with my warlock in the past 5 hours...........

I called TMNet again this morning and the tech staff told me that the 219.95.xxx cable line is badly damaged, so they are fixing the cable as of now. In order not to cause complete disruption of internet services...like having no internet at all....they decided to reroute the traffic through somewhat congested lines...therefore causing the bad latency that we have for the 219.95.xxx line. I have very limited knowledge on this kind of stuff, so tell me if its really possible for them to actually do it like that. Then when I asked about the AT&T restrictions on 219 and 218, he said there was never any restrictions set forth by AT&T at all, and they said that TMNet has direct links to major telecommunications broadband provider including MCI, Verizon, SBC and the likes....

Anyway, good latency doesn't improve my gameplay.. as shown here wink.gif (that latency is obtained from my office network using Time as the ISP - and that's the best I can get, and the worse is 500ms)

Thats probably because you don't have a good PC to support it plain and simple. I mean if your FPS sucks, its not going to do you any good cause it will still show as laggy cause your char will be seen like blinking from one point to another instead of actually running. is that what you mean?

You are right about the customer service part though about being able to pass the info to the consumers from what they know and what they could understand. But all we need is not several different answers. We ONLY need one straightforward answer and why, is that so hard to ask or is that so hard for TMNet to actually explain it? Come on. Networking is not dealing with complex differential equations or programming language. What is that so hard to explain? Remember back in college, instructors would teach us that the best way to write a project paper is to be able to reach to the masses and not just for the professor or fellow major students to understand. So, please, there really are no excuse for TMNet incompetence. Also deadlines exist for a reason. Its not just to entertain people on when it will be done but to set a date and time so that it could be done and to achieve the objectives faster. People without objectives tends to lag off and delay further their task at hand. So screw TMNet, I have emailed them my tracert results and they told me they will get back to me in 3 days. As of now, still no response whatsoever on their part.

TMNET TEMPORARY SERVICE INTERRUPTION

This is to announce that TM Net Sdn Bhd's Internet service is currently experiencing a slight drop in performance caused by several outages due to service degradation at some of its international links to Singapore, Hong Kong, China, Korea, Japan, Thailand and United States.  Our multiple link providers which subscribe to the international carriers are still trying to restore their system for TM Net service.

TM Net is currently running slightly short on international capacity due to the problem.  The congestion will be alleviated as soon as the international carriers fully restore their services for our connectivity.  Meanwhile, we have taken immediate action to divert some traffic through our tmnet Eastgate service as well as to other back-up links to reduce the Internet international traffic congestion.  The international providers are carrying out rectification works in stages and we will be making an announcement when the service has resumed to normal.

TM Net Sdn Bhd apologizes for any inconvenience caused but at the same time we would like to assure you that what we are doing is necessary in order to restore the service as soon as possible.

Customers can call our TM Net Customer Interaction Center at 1-300-88-9515 or 1-300-88-1515 from 8:00 a.m. till midnight or email at custcare@tm.net.my for further enquiries about the service.

---------------------------------------------------------
Has the net line gotten worst ? or its the same (ping) ? I seriously hope they are talking about the problem we have been experiencing for 4 weeks, not a NEW PROBLEM that is occuring just today.

Guess, this means we don't have to goto Clickers, Wildside.
*
I hope they can fix it by this Sunday. I sorely missed my 16 hours WoW marathon every Sundays....yes...that whole day I play only to take a short break for food, a short nap and shower...lol thats my Sunday life...so pathetic...

My latency in game is only 2753ms. It may not seem to be too bad but its totally unplayable. The chat takes 25 mins to come out last night. Even the spells never seems to go off after 30 mins...still shows as casting. And have to Alt+F4 to quit the program.
