It may sound silly, but just asking. Has anyone attempted to watch Hypp TV channels by connecting the Hypp TV Android box into another home that is under Maxis Fibre? LAN cable may not work, but how about WiFi? Is it true that user can load Hypp TV channels via WiFi?

AFAIK, Maxis does not bundle an IPTV service with their broadband package and Unifi's Hypptv STB won't work except on TM's network. Also, i don't think one can simply use the same STB (linked to account A) across different accounts (B, C, D, etc) at different locations, as each box is configured to work only at its pre-configured location. Of course, there's the possibility to unbind and bind to another account.
I made a recent post about viewing Hypptv through WiFi.. Take a look at it.

I've been plague by this HyppTV lagging issue since early December till now. Certain channels having the stuttering issue where the picture would freeze or lag in less than a second, however the audio is fine.

TM has tried increase bandwidth for HyppTV, failed.
Then I request for new TV box, also failed.

Even changed to Huawei WS880 router, too failed. I'm quite frustrated on this. Anyone else faced this and manage to solve this?

I've been facing this issue for days too. Is TM aware of this glitch?

I've no idea. But I spoke to the technicians that came my house. They now change my Dir-850L into Archer C5 router and TM will monitor from their side.

Here's the interesting part, I went to restaurant and also saw the lagging issue on their TV. So I'm pretty sure it's TM side. Not our hardware.

Guess we have to wait until TM resolve the issue completely from their end.

TM designed it to be used via LAN port 4 and not WiFi (cuz Hypptv service has its dedicated bandwidth).. Since you are using Wifi, I'll assume you set it up and know how to reverse and try again.

Just got my Unifi today. So if I move the HypeTV box to another room and connect to the Unifi router (D-Link 850L) via wifi, it won't work? Have to be connect to LAN?

I think i have to lay a new LAN cable then if cannot work via WiFi. rclxub.gif

It may or may not work and won't hurt to at least try before resorting to running cables all over the place. Some have gotten it to work though and depending on WiFi range, you should be able to duplicate their results without much hassle (buffering). However, for best results (99% of the time) and if you can help it, I'd recommend running a cable connected to the LAN port 4.

I may be wrong, as I haven't tested it myself... connecting via WiFi may see Hypptv using up your precious bandwidth instead of the dedicated bandwidth (8Mbps) assigned by TM to each subscriber. This should be increased in the future if the rumors of 4K channels will come true. Perhaps, those who have succeeded in using WiFi can confirm speeds with Hypptv on and off.

You can use home plug or power line instead of laying cables around the house. I'm currently using this for IP-Cam using the power line adapters.

My suggestion is to get model with AC adapters bypass built in. Wouldn't want to waste a power plug just for power line. I bought it at less than RM150 second hand.

If you have more budget, can go for this too, http://www.lazada.com.my/tp-link-av500-pas...88242.html?mp=1 <- TL-WPA4230P KIT

For unifi hypptv it uses Lan port 4.
But streamyx hpptv doesnt have dedicated port.
Cucuk any port or wifi also can watch... Seems like streamyx hypptv sharing bandwith with internet?

Excellent suggestion. I totally forgot about using such.

Cynox... Do confirm your house electrical wiring and hopefully both points are on the same phase.

Is the HyppTV box supposed to connect directly to the Unifi modem? The Unifi installer connect the HypeTV box to the bundled wifi router (D-Link DIR-850L) LAN port and it still works. It just doesn't work on wifi as i tested. Wifi range is not a problem.

i will try later. my house unifi hypptv using the old silver box (1st model)
my father house using streamyx 8mbps (no fiber yet), but not using the hypptv coz use astro.

i will try later using my father's hypptv box connect to my unifi wifi.

if unifi hypptv, yes must connect port 4 on router.
but streamyx hypptv can use any port on router.. this is where im thinking does streamyx bandwidth share both hypptv n internet.

I would suggest that you either borrow a unit to test it out or buy from Lazada. If you not happy using it, you can get a refund within 14 days. biggrin.gif

As mention by Ultiga in his post here, Ultiga's Post, for streamyx, it'll eat up the bandwidth if using HyppTV.

Unlike Unifi, where it's a separated bandwidth under different VLAN in port 4 TM's router.

Nevertheless, you can try to switch your Unifi HyppTV settings to Streamyx HyppTV. It should be under settings inside there, IPTV settings option. Just to play around.

This is interesting!
Streamyx HyppTv box is sharing the internet bandwidth.
What model is the box?

Gosh. sweat.gif Luckily I have removed updates...
Well, I don't use Play Store to download apps but I used it to at least download ES File Explorer. Then I'm good to go. You will need to find wag how to download a File Manager...

You can download but how are you going to install this APK without a File Manager? I guess you will need to Google how to install Play Store instead.
