Shouldn't everywhere the same?
It depends on interviewer. My ex-boss mentioned he hires base on his six sense...
But i guess a tidy person will gain more points during first meet.

no, generally Sporean is not friendly or u could say it depends on individual. For stranger, Msian is definitely more friendly.

Since u r so interested to work at Spore, why not go to www.sg or www.visitsingapore.com.sg to take a glance on the info rather than ask the forumers who usually gv general comments.

Alternative way to cut the living expenses working in sg, maybe you can rent a house or room in jb? But that's only if you don't mind traveling between sg and jb everday, wake up early arrive home late, traffic jam etc.. But many malaysian survived in this way too, what you think? biggrin.gif

If you're not willing to travel dwn to JB often, u can stay somewhere at the northern part of Singapore. Many Singaporeans prfer to travel dwn to JB to buy their daily expenses because it's cheap. Due to this, Singapore local shop is losing. Thus, the northern part of Singapore reduces their price to attract locals to buy their staff at Singapore instead of travelling down to JB.

Calling all brothers and sisters with accounting background.

If you want to land a job in Sg, please do it fast. We need you urgently!!

According to newspapers, there are 20,000 accounting and finance vacancies available here. Flip through Saturday's Recruit, around half of it is finance related. It used to be manufacturing.....

Real life examples:
My sister's employer (SGX listed, STI component), put up recruitment for more than a week, received only 7 applications.
My employer (German MNC), wanted to hire finance staff for more than a month, today kena aeroplane. One shortlisted candidate supposed to come down and sign the offer letter, but she MIA.....

There are a lot more examples, lazy to write all out..........

Most of the savings come from rental.
In sg, S$300 give u a room. In JB, S$300 give u a house.

Definitelty stay in SG. Because, if you see the jam everyday at the 2 causeway during peak hours, you will pengsan. It's normal for people who stay in JB to come to SG 2-3 hours earlier to escape the jam and have a short nap at their working place. So if they work at 8AM, most will leave their house in JB at 5AM to avoid the 6AM jam and reach their company around 6.30AM and sleep until 8AM. When they go back, it's the same thing, the finish work at SG at 5PM and reach home in JB at about 6.30-7PM. Have dinner and watch TV until 10PM and then sleep again for the next day. This is what I hear from the Malaysians workers at my place using bikes to commute everyday.

Now imagine if you had to do that everyday for work. Last I heard there is about few hundred thousand Malaysians working in SG, about half commute everyday through the causeway, and there is only 2 causeway going in, and limited to 2 roads each. I've seen the worst jams of motorcycles at the causeway, its something that will numb most motorist.

Depends...if u wanna be a "working machine likable life", u may live at jb. If u chose to "live and work" at Spore, pls rent a room at Spore. Besides rental, all others expenses are quite affortable in Spore. Go buy your household things at ntuc, can be on par with giant at JB after conversion.
