QUOTE(starry @ Mar 9 2016, 10:36 PM) sorry for being blunt.......after compare then what?are you gonna judge its performance based on variance of the prices? ex. launch yr 2010 at NAV 0.30...now 2015 NAV also 0.30.....does it meant no profits earned? QUOTE(MUM @ Mar 9 2016, 10:42 PM) sorry for being blunt.......after compare then what? Nah I know the price fluctuates. Can't determine profit like that. Just curious where to find the history of launch price till current price.are you gonna judge its performance based on variance of the prices? ex. launch yr 2010 at NAV 0.30...now 2015 NAV also 0.30.....does it meant no profits earned? |

QUOTE(Redbean-ish @ Mar 1 2016, 10:03 AM) You are right! Need to consider the SC is consider high for PM funds..Friend was showing that PSSCF is clone of smallcap fund, persuading me to purchase this. But there is no track record which makes the risk seems even higher. I saw back previous post here and seems like public mutual fund growth is declining... |

Launch Price = look out for their prospectus, it's clearly written there.

Anyone invested in public mutual funds and still think it's a form of 'legit investment'.....please watch this vid. Forward to the 38:00 minute. Also think why the government supports PMF so heavily with the flexibility to invest with Akaun 1. |

Seeking clarifications? 1. If Mutual funds are not good investment vehicle due to charges/commissions, what other types of investment out there available for an ordinary people who are not well versed with Bursa/shares, Forec, etc? Assuming one is looking at about 8% return? 2. Are there any such Income Insurance plan available here in Malaysia? Thanks for sharing and Good day. |

As for the second question, IMHO, insurance is for protection, and isn't the correct tool for cash flow or investments. |

Is PRSF really close for additional investment?
Anyone here contributing to PRSF religiously? My agent ask me to go for PDSF, but I'm still not sure about it. |

QUOTE(Amanda85 @ Apr 6 2016, 01:43 PM) Is PRSF really close for additional investment? Would seriously suggest that you register for the online service - Public Mutual Online.Anyone here contributing to PRSF religiously? My agent ask me to go for PDSF, but I'm still not sure about it. With PMO, you can check instantly whether if the fund is closed or not. When doing the online initial purchase, or additional purchase (and also switching) by cash, if the fund is still open, its name will appear on the selection list. The only transaction that PMO can't do is when it is a purchase and withdrawal from EPF. A fund can be closed to any of the above mentioned 3 transactions - initial purchase, additional purchase or EPF. It may be closed to cash purchase, but open to EPF. It may also be closed to inital purchase but open to additional purchases - but only if the additonal purchases was placed via DDI (Direct Debit Instruction) before it was closed. Regarding PRSF, it is closed. (Sorry to make you read a wall of words before giving the bad news. It's replacement fund would be the recently launched Public Regular Savings Sequel Fund. PDSF is classified as an income fund - more stable compare to PRSF, while PRSF is more towards "growth". A better fund in the same category as PRSF is Public Optimal Growth Fund. |
