Twice because I think their Bond/MM funds are still worth the investment. Equities are no-no to me.

I am awared about our state economy performance...

So this is not the right time to go for it?
*
It's the funds from this company not performing. High service charges and low performing funds.

Hi, any recommendation on EPF approved fund ? I intend to buy and keep for 5 years until I retire in 2022. Currently, my money is parked in bond fund. Thx in advanced.
*
I've the Public Bond Fund but it's closed for investment. I am currently investing in the PSKF and PSTBF. Just continue to park in the BOND fund if you are going to invest with Public Mutual.

Luckily I dumped all my PITTIKAL. This year's DR versus last year's is really a joke for me.

QUOTE(j.passing.by @ Jun 13 2016, 02:48 PM)
If the 5.5% service charge is taken into account, it is not advisable to look into PM when the investment objective is 5 years or less, regardless of how its short term returns was in comparisons to other funds. (And in the shorter term objective where I can determine the exact amount I wished to have, it is better to make the exit when the amount is reached and not preset the exit to the initial investment tenure.)
*
In reply to this comment, I have to agree with you 5.5% is too high to invest in regardless >5 years or <5 years. If we are looking at the long term horizon in respect to investing in PM's equity, we are hoping (or praying) that the distribution will cover these service charges without us feeling the pinch.

I would never want to invest in PM's equity as long as the charges remains. Unless, they charge 1-2% at most for the equities.

The distributions (as usual) are a joke to me. PSMALLCAP is one of the best funds just 5 cents?

Bro, go to FSM thread and read Post #1 for explanation of what distributions mean in the context of mutual funds - it's meaningless.
*
I understand. It's virtually nothing as it's a distribution, not a dividend. However, looking at the amount declared as 5 cents is a joke. PSMALLCAP distribution used to be like > 5 cents in the past.

Crappy distribution. If I see year to year return on the PIEBF, it's less than 4% return. I guessed it's time for me to pull out everything from Public Mutual.

Hello - any agents can advise my scenario?

I've a fund PIEBF invested with EPF. I wanted to switch to PB series fund, e.g. to PBSUKUK. Is there a way I can do it? It seems like I cannot switch out this fund through PMO, can I walk in to switch?

Hey, How's your experiences in Bond fund? how's the return? is it similar to Fix deposit , although I know their mechanism is different.
*
I'd say just slightly better than FD after minus those agents fees and such. Not really worth my time with Public Mutual.

Thought it brings you satisfaction, coz u mentioned you prefer bond fund rather than equities.

Yeah at the point you quoted my sentences it was about a year ago. Right now, look at their funds. In a good market, they are performing sub-par-ly. To be frank, I took out all of my investment with Public Mutual and invested elsewhere.

I had been with Public Mutual since 1997 till this year wink.gif So you can imagine how many years I had invested and same time looking at the returns for the recent years, it's not up to my expectations.

Treat Public Mutual Fund like buying share.
Don't blindly buy when high and every 3 month if using EPF.

Buy only when low or dip...
I have been selling and buying Public Mutual Fund thru EPF 3 occasion.

I always buy Public Index....just reinvested from EPF last year Nov when KLCI index hovering at 1720 point.
Now making rm3k extra plus from rm58k EPF funding.

As the Dividend declare on Jan yearly....
Just got back the 3% dividen which offset the 3% charges.
Which is about rm1.7k
*
Thanks - though I might dislike KWSP, it is still better than mutual funds especially from Public Mutual.

Btw, there's no such thing as dividend from Public Mutual, it's distribution, which means whatever declared is whatever was earned. You get back more in terms of units, but you don't earn that 3%.

Yes..i only choose to invest thru KWSP because only charge 3% as compared using own money 5.5%

Yes..you right again...it is call distribution not dividend which have been hookwink the simpleton mind when i initially invested way back then.

Important....buy low and only invest if there a dip.

Agreed totally on the buy low sell high concept. The problem as always with unit trust is that we don't get to control over the price we want to sell, nor sell.
And, we do not know when is the 'low' in reality of the market.
Another thing that I couldn't agree with Public Mutual is the high service charges of 5.5% for personal / 3% for KWSP equity. Too high as compared to stocks.

I would not say Unit trust as a whole is a bad thing but this is not my game for now, at least with Public Mutual.
