...

I'm actually referring to all the animated series in general as not pinpointing only towards the RID 2014 series. Animated Blurr for one and the TFP line of figures in general are in my book some very well made figures. Eventhough they don't incorporate complicated transformation mechanism such as ROTF OP not to mention some of them are even somewhat simplified but they serve the purpose and fit persona of the character which they are based on. This is what made them interesting to me.

...

for the record, i'm also referring to all the recent animated series. starting from TF animated up to whatever it is now.....(see i don't even have interest in the shows anymore. maybe it's mid life crisis cry.gif )

Transformers are like people.

From some angles they look beautiful:

Latest news, apparently, it is quite "proven" that the seller is a fraudster. All of his listings has been removed and his account has been deleted by eBay. Paypal has also confirmed that all buyers submitted claims for a refund but they cannot proceed any further because in their record, the seller has updated the system with "tracking code" which upon verification, appears to be invalid =O

Ya true.

Funny thing is, the ugly one is the official transformation.

I don't get why Hasbro is trying to make all its combiners look like gorillas.

It's not done unintentionally, it gives a visual impression to people that the figures are bulky. Combiners are supposed to look tough, so they need to appear "strengthy" (if that's even a word laugh.gif).

No one likes an agility bodied combiner.

There is a difference between looking tough and looking like an ape.

Look at MMC Feral Rex and Warbotron Bruticus for examples of tough-looking combiners done right.

IMO, the only thing that can save these official combiners from ugliness is extensive third party retools... or 'mistransformations' like the one above haha.

P.S. It's also worth noting that this gorilla style is not present in the official CW artwork, which again leads me to believe it's simply poor toy design on Hasbro's part:

How to determined if a Masterpiece figure for example MP-17 Prowl is a KO or the real thing?

As far as I know, even the box is exactly the same thing perfectly copied.

For cars MPs... The box can give you lots of hints if it is real or fake. Search KO vs. MP comparisons from RocketPunch Army on YouTube

Sadly ... the CW Optimus "Gorilla Arms" Prime is now THE IDW Optimus Prime smile.gif . I really dislike the mold, but I guess a Takara repaint will be nicer.
