have anyone see this photo of grimlock from toyworld? isnt that a pair of combiner leg? does that mean the dinobot from tw will be a combiner?

Yes currently there are 6 teams making dinobots

Fanstoys MP Scale Dinobots
Gigapower MP Scale Dinobots

FansProject Modern Aesthetic Classics scaled Dinobots (Voyager Sized maybe except swoop)
PlanetX Fall of Cybertron Aesthetic Classics scaled Dinobots (Voyager Sized maybe except swoop)

Combiners :
ToyWorld Classics Scaled Combiner Dinobots (Voyager Sized)
GCreations Shuraking Classics Scaled Combiner Dinobots (bots i would say are Ultra sized)

IMHO GCreations seem to fit the scale where you see in the cartoon of dinobots towering over the autobots..

yeap, that's wave 2 alright.

Toysrus probably got their display stock from vHobby LOL

BUT their vehicle mode is amazing, especially Dead End. Gorgeous looking.

I read that one of the annoying issue with breakdown is now the hollow legs.. but the see-saw leg joints.. so if one of them is angled down .. the other will be angled up.. makes posiing annoying as hell.

As much as I am not a fan of CW stuff.. I will howver buy the United Warriors sets.. reason being..

No "random" members..
Clever use of paint apps (sometimes less is more also.. )

Already ordered superion will order menasor soon probably

btw, if anybody is looking, I have a MP-24 for sale.. details in my sig.

i'm actually not really bothered with the "see-saw" joints, it's more to "nit-pick" issue to me since it will end up as a limb anyway.

yeah, United Warriors are more G1 accurate but it's not so much of a "random" character since Hasbro based them in their IDW continuity but i have to admit, Takara's release is better than Hasbro, not in terms of quality but probably accuracy.

one more thing that I like about Takara is that they release the entire combiner in one set, definitely beats what Hasbro is doing with their line (releasing by wave) which is really troublesome. Up until now, i think most stores still doesn't have the Wave 2 yet.

I'm now waiting for Takara to announce their Defensor and Devastator.

Yep i'm definitely waiting for Devastator as well and probably Defensor too.. I already have 3p equivalents.. but they are pretty good toys for my kids to play with.. I bought alpha bravo again because I quite like the mold (having sold off my superions et recently) and my 1 1/2 yrd old kids was trying to open the blister pack and asking my wife to do so lol.

Just watched the video, really hard to know which is KO from out of box... I just bought 1 from eBay n waiting the toy to reach my door step. Got a few MPs still not yet out of box but this MP-17 a bit worry. Seller told it's from TakTom Japan with no coin, guess I'll need to transform it once I get it.

You can check the TOMY logo copyright stamp on KO to see if it is there, but you need an original to compare to really know. smile.gif

All Japanese release has no coins. Hasbro Asia sells TT products outside of Japan because that's the deal between Hasbro and TT. So when Hasbro Asia distributes TT MP toys, they have the coins to go with it. That's why the coins are stamped Hasbro. So if your toy comes directly from Japan, there will not be any coins.

You seem to suggest that I'm contradicting myself in my statement which i disagree.

My first reply was to your statement that the combiners appeared to resemble "gorillas", thus I assumed that you were complaining about the bulk size of it but then after reading your second statement, I'm thinking that maybe you are referring to the arm's length which extends all the way to the knee joints hence giving them that "ape-like" appearance which is why i replied to you regarding the mechanics.

I'm sure Hasbro finds the actual combiners wanting for something and I'm sure they still think the illustration in the comics are better but like i said, "restrictions" will not help them achieve what they wanted to achieve. So, it's the matter of Hasbro following the comic rather than the other way around.

Wow! Seems like you've been through the Transformers franchise since they were released. Care to show me which combiners Hasbro has released that in your opinion is better than the current combiner wars line? I just started collecting the toys as of late 2011 so have no idea of its predecessors.

Not to interject the CW thingamagic, but Hasbro does have a point person to communicate with IDW and Movieverse peeps about the character and how they look like etc... I think I saw a job ad posting on that once.. But you know. Even if there's collaboration, there's still gonna be creative differences in the final two products, comics, movies, animated, toys, video games... They will all be different from one another.

usually the only differences between hasbro and TakTom is on the painting finishing right? the price estimated for TakTom?
