Anyone here getting the CW Devastator?

that estimation is beyond bad. the retail in the US is RM159.90 and even after taking into consideration the current crazy conversion rate and PLUS delivery charges, it won't add up to RM1,000.00 -.- if really local toy stores are charging RM1,000.00, i'll pre-order online from the US anytime.

Well, you have to take into consideration the price point here. Most 3rd parties combiners (or should i say, all), costs at least RM1,000.00 for a complete set. Hasbro's gives you a complete one below that RM1,000.00 and it's an "official product" so the latter is a plus point.

Actually, i don't really see the real complain on the CW Devastator. People complain about the individual robot's articulation but how many collectors would actually display the units in individual robot modes?

The most obvious mistake Hasbro made was "Mixmaster" -.-

RM600.00 should be around the range but the price should include GST. If you see from toystores now, for pre-orders to be delivered after April, the price are already inclusive of GST. Take for example, Takara Unite Warriors Superion.

I beg to differ though, i think the price is a very valid point of argument because the difference is significance and from the picture and first hand review of some youtubers, the quality isn't really far off from these 3rd party devastators. we have to remind ourselves that this is a toy and it will always remain a toy. 3rd party manufacturers and hasbro have different conception in mind where the former has "display/collectibles" in mind and the latter has "play". In this sense, i think hasbro nails it. I wouldn't play with Green Giant etc with the risk of "damaging" it. it's just way too valuable.

Keeping everything simple and fun.

I wouldn't let my nieces and nephews play with the Green Giant (if i have one =P) but i don't mind them playing with the CW Devastator. Same thing, I let my nephew play with my AOE Optimus Prime but not the ROTF Optimus Prime because the transformation of the ROTF is just too damn tough.

People will always complain just like how people complained about Hasbro's Superion but worshiped Takara's. They are the same thing but really, does the color scheme make such a HUGE difference, i don't think so. People complained because, they like to complain, that's all. The Devastator may be subject to further tweaks because it was an early preview. Look back at the Superion when it was first released by Hasbro, it's not captivating at all.

When Alpha Bravo was revealed to replace Slingshot, it seems to many as if Hasbro has committed treason but now, people are praising Hasbro for releasing an alternative.

Having the luxury of all worlds is definitely good but really, if you asked majority of the people who bought Devastator, they want Devastator, not Long Haul or Mixmaster.

Further, not everyone has the financial ability to choke out RM1,000.00 just to buy something to display so i think Hasbro has enable many people to make their dream come true.

you should fix the Superion's antenna lol. yours pretty bad.

I wouldn't waste the money for just the antenna.

the antenna leans to the back when it should be upright. this is an inherent problem for all Superions but some are not that bad, with the tilt degree of probably 10 or 15.

Yeah, this helps aesthetically only but unless you intend to play with it alot, i don't recommend spending that amount of money for just the antenna. should save the money and invest on the Defensor

i doubt Takara would have it fixed since what Takara does is mainly apply for paint jobs. it's essentially the same mold but yeah, i'm eager to see what Takara will do besides improving the units aesthetically in color.

"collectors item". you may chose to sell them though but i am not sure if people will buy it. if you search on ebay, some of the coins are selling up to RM500.00 per piece. i rather spent that amount to get the model itself but i guess there are always people who lost these coins and they so happen to be a perfectionist.

If the rumors are true, Hasbro will also release their own version of Slingshot and it should be a TRU exclusive unit so i will definitely be getting it for the sake of completion but to be honest, i was very skeptical towards Alpha Bravo but man, have I grown on him. If you asked me, Alpha Bravo seems like the better mold amongst the other Aerialbots =O but nonetheless, I will have him replaced with Slingshot (if it gets released) and have Alpha Bravo hung on a string in "chopper mode" in my display shelf =P

Yeah, the Perfect Effect thing seems like a great add-on kit.

though it may seems unfair to those who stick to the only original ideology but think of it from another angle, it actually gives an opportunity to many who doesn't have the financially ability to also fulfill their childhood ambition.

though i collect only from the original lines but i don't despise these KOs or people who collect because i think everyone should have a fair chance. if you have the money then go for the original and if not, KO will do just fine.

at the end of the day, it all boils down to personal satisfaction. besides, one must not forget, they are afterall no matter how expensive, they are still a toy.

talking about KO, my gawd, my friend's KO Buster Prime looks as good as mine the difference can only be seen during transformation.

so yeah, KO may seems bad for business and "unfair" for original collectors but on the long run, if they have that consistency in quality control, they may actually drive these original manufacturers mad to lower down their price (competition) and i really love that because really, these original toys prices are off the roof. The price of a voyager now is the same as a leader class back then -.-

since we are on the topic of KO, what is your view on these 3rd party manufacturers (Green Giant, Warbotron etc). Technically speaking, they do not have the "official license" to manufacture them but people are praising them and willing to pay a fortune to own them. this is something that i also cannot agree with my friend who deems these "3rd parties" are "not KO".

Isn't the definition of Knock Offs also include anything that is not from the original manufacturer?

If they praise these "3rd parties" and at the same time despise the other "KOs" like Buster Prime etc, isn't it contradictory?

What is your view on this?

there are some stores which offers codes which are valid for a selected period of time =(

besides, it never hurts to ask what.

also, it may not necessarily be a big loss to the code issuer though. at the end of the day, they may even earn more.

no store will open a business to make a loss so i think even though fox_shinoda's purchase of the MP-22 is significantly lower than the current market price, the vendor is still earning. not a lot but earning.

If you intend to get the Menasor, please don't get them individually from TRU. You'll realize by doing so, it's significantly more expensive. You will definitely get it cheaper from hobby shops and the price should be the same as the last wave 1.

Not sure about the GST because if you noticed, most of the hobby shops which opened up for PO which is set to be delivered in June/July (ie. Takara Superion), has GST included and the "seemingly GST included" price did not jacked up one bit.

Need to check with customs if Transformers toys exempted goods XD

By the way, anyone know how to place pre-orders with 1 TOY, they gave a CODE but i have no idea where to put it in.

IT Toys made a post earlier today on the price, PO price is RM175.00, after PO price, RM219.00 =O

by the way, does this also comes with the collector's coin because a few reviews on youtube shows some previous molds does not come with coin unless you pay a litle bit extra?

they should really covered up that 2 peg points at the wing tail (which was meant for Jetfire's jetpack) sigh
