READ people!!!
there are 11 pages on this thread and still the last question is, 'what do i eat?' I had the same problem some time ago, but i started reading all over the forums and now im back on track. Use the following steps if you're really serious about doing something: 1) Make up your mind. If you really want to change the way you look, you have to start spending time on yourself. you won't just grow into a hunk one fine day. 2) Make yourself a timetable or atleast a meal planner. If you can't eat and sleep on time, there is no way you can change yourself. Your body reacts to major changes, not an extra roti for supper. 3)List down all the healthy foods. your main aim would be to eat more protien(muscle tissue), carbs(fuel your body), and less fat(you're looking for quality weight, not flabs dripping off your body) This is a list from my notes that i've made over the time, mainly from other sites. (yes, u have to get off that chatroom and start making some notes) High Protein Foods Whey protein Oats Cottage cheese Eggs Egg whites Chicken breasts Turkey Breasts Lean Beef Fish (tuna, salmon) Protein bars Egg Protein Powder Casein Milk* * Yes, milk - for us skinny guys whole milk is a wonder food when it comes to adding quality weight to our bodies. High Carbohydrate Food Potatoes Sweet Potatoes, yams Oatmeal, cream of wheat, cream of rice Rice Beans Any green leafy vegetable Bread Pasta Healthy Fats Olive oil Sunflower oil Safflower oil Flaxseed oil Walnuts Coconut Oil Avocados 4)Yes we know you can't really jump from eating 2 rotis a day to 6 huge meals. Start forcing yourself to eat as much as possible. you can start by making your meals from the list above (and read up more on the internet for healty food). stop eating at the mamak, and start packing your fridge with good food. specially lots of meat, peanut butter, cheese, eggs and milk! 5) start working out!!! while your at it, try gaining some strength and put all that food to good use. you dont want to see a huge belly after a month. For starters, try this: darklight79's wonderful sticky: Building for beginners Last but not the least of my 2 cents... If i can do it, so can all of you. I've started since a while, and i'm sure i'm gaining some good mass. Best of luck to all the skinny brothers! PS: darklight79, please correct me if i'm wrong on any part. |

Hey dubaimax. Are you the guy who contacted me on Friendster? If that's you, nice post mate. Good to see you finally came here. Keep us updated on your progress. Btw, that's not my article, I'm just passing down useful things i pick up from my American friends. Kethnaab is a very knowledgeable member from bb.com. I've had the honour of him helping me customize my new 5 x 5 program.

yup darklight, i was the one. Thanks to you,
and yes i've read most of Kethnaab's stuff. indeed, amazing knowledge! i hope the guys here who had problems with their diet start reading on this forum and on bodybuilding.com - both are like the free encyclopedias. all you have to do is pick out what suits you and be determined to use the programs. as for me..i finally started making stuff at home. my daily meals are usually a mix of: eggs milk oats chicken breast (yes, i love nandos!) turkey peanut butter cottage cheese spinach rice lots of vegetables - lettuce, carrots.. fruits - atleast one everyday water - i'm trying to get into the habit of carrying water with me everywhere i go, and i dont wait for my throat to get dry, i just drink the water anyways.(almost close to a gallon... its tuff, but its showing me results!!) oh and those who rely on soda - i was a cola addict. if u cant drink plain water, add some lemon or drop in a mint leaf in your water bottle. do anything just stay away from soda! i've not yet stepped on the scale, i like to see large differences so i'm waiting till new years to see how much i've gained. as for fat, i know what i'm eating, the rest i can see in the mirror so the rest of you who are still looking for 'what to eat when ur not sleeping' well, go for some grocery shopping, turst me, its cheaper and healthier than you mamak! best of luck guys! PS: darklight - i'm still to start on RIPPETOE's program(-religiously) cuz i'm travelling a lot the whole day and the gym is an hour away from home, probably start serious workout in december. do you think i should post my journal online here or let it stay in my diary? (í just dont like every tom jack and mark making stupid comments...) This post has been edited by dubaimax: Nov 27 2006, 12:20 PM |

QUOTE(dubaimax @ Nov 27 2006, 11:50 AM) yup darklight, i was the one. Thanks to you, Dubaimax, the regulars at this section aren't like some of the retards you find at Kopitiam or Cupid's. When they post, they give usefull feedback. They have the respect not to post any bullshit on anyone's journal and their comments will be constructive and useful. There are quite a lot of people here on Rippetoe's and Madcow's. A few names would be pizzaboy, carlsuen, joey kun, nezzy, etc, etc so they will know what you're going through. I suggest you start a journal here.and yes i've read most of Kethnaab's stuff. indeed, amazing knowledge! i hope the guys here who had problems with their diet start reading on this forum and on bodybuilding.com - both are like the free encyclopedias. all you have to do is pick out what suits you and be determined to use the programs. as for me..i finally started making stuff at home. my daily meals are usually a mix of: eggs milk oats chicken breast (yes, i love nandos!) turkey peanut butter cottage cheese spinach rice lots of vegetables - lettuce, carrots.. fruits - atleast one everyday water - i'm trying to get into the habit of carrying water with me everywhere i go, and i dont wait for my throat to get dry, i just drink the water anyways.(almost close to a gallon... its tuff, but its showing me results!!) oh and those who rely on soda - i was a cola addict. if u cant drink plain water, add some lemon or drop in a mint leaf in your water bottle. do anything just stay away from soda! i've not yet stepped on the scale, i like to see large differences so i'm waiting till new years to see how much i've gained. as for fat, i know what i'm eating, the rest i can see in the mirror so the rest of you who are still looking for 'what to eat when ur not sleeping' well, go for some grocery shopping, turst me, its cheaper and healthier than you mamak! best of luck guys! QUOTE(Golden @ Nov 28 2006, 04:33 PM) Hey... douchebag, this isn't a place where you can troll around, understand? ![]() I suggest you pull your head out of your ass before making such posts again. dubaimax. don't get so touchy. you need to ease up. you gotta realize in every forum there're a s s h o l e s everywhere full of jackass comments, even in the Western bodybuilding forums i post at. It's no different everywhere mate. You do know the rest of the regulars here are pretty professional. We may joke around but not to the point of giving detrimental advice like this guy here. I don't recall ever reading coconut oil and avocado being considered healthy fats.
