Same thing …you are changing the purpose usage of that particular area … original is an open balcony as per your original sales and purchased layout and now changing the usage to gym/ new room which is basically new enclosed space with 4 corners of full height wall / glass curtain wall ….furthermore you are extending the roofing which deviate from the original S&P plan …. Still need to submit …. If You trust your contractor you can proceeed with his idea , but if let’s say suddenly got complaints from neighbour or DBKL officer suddenly hardworking enough to do some patrolling …then get ready to kaodim or pay penalty / fine…


If small works like changing old roofing to new roofing , doing fencing gate , or internal partition still need to apply permit … permit kerja kecil …. Yours consider as extension …need to submit

nope..that is not an awning. You adding a new roofing at 1st floor and new balcony as well as new door access to the balcony correct.. need to submit plan to MPKJ.

I got a permit for back extension. Wanna ask this permit only for one time use? If few years later I want to extend front porch still need to reapply permit or can use the same permit again?

Permit is only valid for 1 year … if the construction still not complete within a year , a renewal permit fee will be imposed and you will have to give a very good reason to convince the OSC committee on why they should approve another renewal….

The carporch extension is included in the original approval drawing BP approval ? If not , then have to submit new submission ….

Back extension permit was applied using pelan setara or through qualified person?
If pelan setara, then valid for 1 year only and cannot be used for other works - you would need to buy separate pelan setara for the porch.
If applied through QP, the plan approval is still valid provided borang b (notice to start work) was submitted within 1 year from approval. Then if CCC has not been issued, amendment plan (to extend porch) can be submitted. The only expiry would likely be permit meletak bahan binaan.

Radha not friendly type but will search. Whether same day or take days/weeks, it depends.
If not found, you can engage someone to do measured drawing.
Also can ask neighbours if they keep the same house plan.

Hi all. Want to get advice on my renovation works. My house is a state title intermediate terrace.

Most of the renovation is nothing major except for one item, which is an extension of my bathroom.

The original is a space for walk in wardrobe next to the bathroom. The bathroom is being extended into the wall in wardrobe space to have a new shower area.

Sewerage systems unaffected but a new drain point will need to be created as well as rerouting the water piping in that bathroom.

Does this require DBKL permit?

Yes, should be able to apply for Permit Kerja Kecil.
Owner can self apply/enquire at OSC counter (Menara DBKL 2).

Hey all, am planning to do an extension of my new intermediate 22x70 residential lot backyard (for wet kitchen); extend by a further 5" width x 22" length x 12" height, fully covered with red brick wall and roof.

Looking for advice on the permit procedure under MPAJ guidelines.. if I plan to do the submissions on my own, do I need to engage a LAM draftsman to endorse my plan first then submit the endorsed plan to MPAJ for approval?

Already have a prospective contractor but not sure how the interaction between contractor and the draftsman will be like etc... contractor knows my exact plan but if i engage draftsman need to have another round of site visit and measuring by draftsman? What if draftsman has different technical advice vs contractor? Sorry total noob here and confused with different advice from multiple parties...

Yeap correct , and the floor plan demarcation of area on what works going to be affected …. Depending on the officer also if they ask
