i'm surprised to see Maxis now have 1Gbps and 2 Gbps options as well.
800Mbps is phased out.
So if they really upgrade those pre-existing ...

wait, what about the RM11 5G access fee?  vmad.gif  ranting.gif  bangwall.gif

I'm already paying RM 129 for 300Mbps. I guess nothing for me unless they upgrade it to 500Mbps for the same RM 129. tongue.gif
*
yes me wonder also for RM219 for 500mb - what speed upgrade will they give? cannot be 1GB or 800mb (no more)

personally, i would prefer RM149 for 500mb, and i dont mind signing contract for another 24 mths with TV purchase ...

wait .. for existing user it's rm159 and not rm149... sigh*

Free speed upgrade, subject to network and technology infrastructure at your area, will not include any router and modem changes. On request, router/modem can be changed and will be subjected to standard recontracting terms and conditions.

i think my onu only got 100mbps port that device with TM logo... hope changing that do not require me to recontracting kek

I am already on 500. Free upgrade to 1mbps? I don’t need this speed. Haha

Similar to Unifi, if you don't need the upgraded speed you'll have to change plan with 2 years recontract.

QUOTE(trent666 @ Oct 27 2023, 12:36 PM)
TLDR: If you are on RM89 30mbps, switch to Unifi now because Maxis will not give you a free upgrade.

I've called Maxis and confirmed that they will not match TM's offer. They want RM99 for 100mbps.

Celcomdigi only offers RM89 for 100mbps if you take up their postpaid mobile plan.

Therefore, the only logical choice for cheapest 100mbps now is Unifi (RM89 forever), before they raise prices to RM99.
*
Yes agree. But those still in contract will be the victim as they neither can switch to Unifi without penalty nor getting any free upgrade.
100mbps and above will be upgraded without any extra cost.

I read the FAQs.
It seems pure 2 Gbps.
And they also provide WiFi 6E router.

My another home, it seems stuck on 30 Mbps with lame pricing.
Maybe after finish the contract on March 2024, I will change to Unifi.
Much cheaper summore.
They force me to add RM10 to get 100 Mbps speed.
Stupid Maxis.

If you’re currently paying RM89/month for your 30Mbps Home Fibre Plan, Maxis says it is encouraging you to upgrade to the all-new Maxis Home Fibre 100Mbps and enjoy 3x the speed for an additional RM10 per month.

for my case it will be this :

But if you don’t need the faster speed and prefer to pay less on your monthly bill, you are allowed to downgrade to the same speed on the new Maxis home fibre plan. Similar to Unifi, there will be a contract renewal for 24 months if you wish to change or downgrade your plan.

anyone knows if i downgrade and get another 24 mth old contract, can i tie in for a tv in zerolution as well?

The issue is they said it is subjected to a contract renewal which I don’t want.
Plus the price is not worth it compared with Unifi which at RM89 per month.

So better I jump back to Unifi to teach them a lesson.

Unless you have an existing Zerolution contract, you have to finish that first.
And possibly they might not allow you to downgrade because the price you pay for the Zerolution device and internet does not match.

According to Maxis, existing Home Fibre customers on plans of 100Mbps and above will be eligible for a free speed upgrade without any new contract or price change on their existing subscription. This means if you’re currently paying RM129/month for 100Mbps, you’ll be upgraded to 300Mbps. If you’re paying RM149/month for 300Mbps, you’ll be bumped up to 500Mbps.

So meaning, I will get 500Mbps now for RM 129 until my contract ends?

Even RM79 for 30Mbps I would stay also, but looks like not the case.

Just called Maxis, the officer said that 30Mbps customers will be automatically upgraded to 100mbps without any additional charges by end of Nov.

I read the FAQs.
It seems pure 2 Gbps.
And they also provide WiFi 6E router.
*
After reading the FAQ I agree and believe the situation might turn out to be the following

1) They will very likely be providing a new ONT with 2.5GbE (on all ports).

2) For 2Gbps they will be providing the 6E router with at least 2x2.5GbE ports (1x WAN and 1x LAN) as they claim 2Gbps LAN speed.
So no TM solution of an ONR without actual 2.5GbE capabilities. That's good news if true.

3) What is also to be seen is if the new MultiGig ONT is also given to 1Gbps customers. Perhaps it will be but the WiFi 6 router won't come with MultiGig ports.

Got to wait for official clarification on this.

Staff at Maxis just told me to call 1800 82 1230.

The guy on the other side said can match unifi offer, but I asked for public IP too which he said its chargable.

Told him to proceed with my transfer....

Then gotten email from TM saying my transfer request approved.

PS: was told to pay current unbilled month in advance, which later will be prorated and any balance can be claimed via Maxis website (search for refund). I havent done so but the approved email was received anyway from TM.
