OK la, enjoy for 4 months before my contract ends. If they retain me for the same price by that time, then I will stick to Maxis.

QUOTE(nrw @ Oct 27 2023, 04:39 PM) After reading the FAQ I agree and believe the situation might turn out to be the following According to this post. Maxis again will use Kaon. Which is unknown brand..wonder why not use TP Link or D Link(like TM)..modem is still unknown..for same price...Maxis offer better except extra charge for Public IP... 1) They will very likely be providing a new ONT with 2.5GbE (on all ports). 2) For 2Gbps they will be providing the 6E router with at least 2x2.5GbE ports (1x WAN and 1x LAN) as they claim 2Gbps LAN speed. So no TM solution of an ONR without actual 2.5GbE capabilities. That's good news if true. 3) What is also to be seen is if the new MultiGig ONT is also given to 1Gbps customers. Perhaps it will be but the WiFi 6 router won't come with MultiGig ports. Got to wait for official clarification on this. |

i don't like that MaxWifi thingy.
they'll come to survey your premise, set up the necessary number of wifi mesh nodes to cover your home. but it's renting the mesh wifi nodes, which you will have to return if you stop subscribing to the maxwifi add-on. before maxwifi, you had the option to outright buy and own the number of nodes you need. hmmm... if not mistaken, previously, those outside contract are free to switch plan without refreshing contract.
is maxis now changing terms and condition to be like unifi? if change plan, then a new contract will be slapped on? |

"no equipment change".
i expect 500Mbps gets 800Mbps and 800Mbps gets 1Gbps. Not even need to visit customers' premise as existing devices should be able to support 1Gbps RJ45 all around |

QUOTE(tropik @ Oct 27 2023, 05:30 PM) Staff at Maxis just told me to call 1800 82 1230. Same case as Unifi. You want to port out need to pay 1 month advance, balance will be refunded. The guy on the other side said can match unifi offer, but I asked for public IP too which he said its chargable. Told him to proceed with my transfer.... Then gotten email from TM saying my transfer request approved. PS: was told to pay current unbilled month in advance, which later will be prorated and any balance can be claimed via Maxis website (search for refund). I havent done so but the approved email was received anyway from TM. |

QUOTE(aniq8676 @ Oct 27 2023, 08:53 PM) Ya, this. Probably they be using the same one on their own infrastructure areas as well. The latter I'll be able to confirm should they upgrade existing 1Gbps customers to 2Gbps next month. Credits to Anime4000 who posted the following in the TM Thread. I hope it's fine quoting this here. QUOTE(Anime4000 @ Oct 27 2023, 11:27 PM) |

QUOTE(QuantumEdge @ Oct 28 2023, 08:51 AM) Yep.Maybe that is why they are able to provide better routers than TM? Kaon routers maybe quite cheap? My previous years, in terms of router, I hate TM provided routers, they are quite bad in terms of everything. At least with Maxis one, only the settings page is annoying and cannot do many changes. But the signal is quite good overall. |

I'm currently still under contact.
I would like to upgrade my plan from 30Mbps to 100Mbps. Do I entitle for the RM10 rebate for 24 months? |

QUOTE(lpsoldier007 @ Oct 27 2023, 04:36 PM) Just called Maxis, the officer said that 30Mbps customers will be automatically upgraded to 100mbps without any additional charges by end of Nov. Is this true?I did chat with Maxis, they currently offer me 100Mbps for RM99, and I don't need to renew my contract. If there is a free upgrade for 30Mbps, I might as well wait until the end of November, can save RM10/month. jusbella liked this post
