used to have hamsters..
had 2.after few months..
breed like hell til got hamsters evrwyhere..
so many till @_@ so released them into d jungle..
cannot tahan too many

sorry to say that, but release them into the jg means killing them indirectly. Next time dun do that lah, better give away for frens, will be better i think.

yes...even in not jungle place there were many enemy of hamster..cats and dog..
in the jungle..the mighty jungle..many predators will eat ur hammies..snakes..wild cats..bird of prey..biawak..civets..
but if the hamster manage to save and breed well in the jungle, we will find a new wild rodent in our country..

Next time i will also buy prestige 4 them!!! BTw How do i post pics arh?? i got many many cute Nice pics to share!!

reanne sis...i plan to get another hamster...it dosent matter if it can get along with my hamham coz i got 2 cage and 1...the wooden cupboard...so which 1 suits me?...

Now my pups are 15 days old. So is it advisable to separate the mum with her babies ? Around after how long ? And how to recognise the pup's gender ? I guess I need to separate between the males and the females to avoid breeding in the future.

15 days too young to seperate lah.... Only seperate when they reach 30 days old. Coz the mother can teach some skills or habits to the babies. Seperate the males from the females when they reach 30 days old.

Ok... How to recognise the gender ? Based on the current pattern of the mummy and daddy; the female will have a round body with slightly visible dividing line, where as for the male will have a long body with clear dividing lines on the fur. Any other indication besides that ? I guess the pups are just too young to distinguish among themselves or I missed out the details ?

Hmmm... that is the first time I heard of that, but that is not an accurate way to tell the gender. You have to see the genitals. Close together means females and a gap between the genitals is a male. Females tend to have nipples while makes have a scent gland at the belly. The male's testicals would be visible when it is around 1 month old.

Can I say like this ? If there is something sticking out from the bottom oft he pups means that, it is a "he" ? If none, means is a "she". And I also notice that the back of the pups is like wearing a skirt. The same pattern with the current adult male but just that, it is a smaller version of skirt.
