not familiar w Putrajaya. A few good aquascape shop in Shah Alam/Subang

you are beginner have limited budget- then better don't do a 2 ft tank.
The cost of filter, lights, soil etc gonna be very expensive.

Might as well spend RM 120 for a 40 cm cube tank.
Light i use Maagoo- approx RM 100
would need a filter- say Dophon CF 600 ( don't use 300, it is undersize)

For cycling of tank? don't really need to spend.
Just set up the tank with soil and hardscape, and plant. then run filter and change water frequently for 2 weeks

some people use bac-starter, but yes, it cost money.
just let the bacterial to grow naturally ba.
if you have another aged tank, can bring the old filter there as well.

go for kandila s600.. that is a great light for plant.. so your planning is just for shrimp n fish so this light is really suit you

You really going to Aquascape with plant or just purely shrimp+small fish.

If just shrimp + small fish, quite a lot of choice. Setup can be really simple like Larve Rock + Sponge Filter System

If Aquascape, consider Chihiros series(bought direct from T.bao cheaper). Not forget Co2 setup, Timer, Filtering System, soil, mineral, fertilizer etc...
Think twice, coz its not like setup and go, you plant will grow as well as Algea so you need to really had patient to maintain it.

Check out MD Fish Tanks at youtube for low budget setup, no fancy light, no co2 but still can grow well. But I think main reason also his room temperature is maintain at lower end 20+ not like our weather 30degree.

yeah that is true
our temperature and sunlight promote the algae growth

many plant thrieves in low temperature. slow growth but can control better

Anybody know why my surface skimmer can't really suck the oil from the surface? I did clean the sponge inside, can see the water is flowing inside but the surface oil just not moving.

The upper part of skimmer need to be floating, can show some pic how to place the skimmer

i recall it was around Rm 150 2 years ago.

30 degrees still can grow well. Just need to pick suitable plant. Mine doing well with no CO2, 4 x T5 LED & no filter. If have filter, definitely need to install a fan or two to prevent the water temperature from going above 30C in hot whether. I have ramshorn snails in there. Great at keeping the tank clean.
