QUOTE(owenwong84 @ Apr 3 2015, 12:10 AM) What does it mean if the fur drop alot. Today saw those kibble vomitted... check at my cat she still actively jump and bite the toy. Probably nothing. Don't worry. However if it's frequently & combination with other symptoms like lethargy or diarrhea or contain blood, then you need to bring your cat to vet. IMO, even with diarrhea, it's usually because of the food & changing the food usually fixed the problem.

Is it normal for cats to drop fur? I wasn't sure if it the diet.
She was given BW, but sebab GST, we've changed her diet to Whiskas [both dry and wet].

If this happen after changing the food, then it's probably because of the food. From BW to Whiskas, that is huge downgrade. I think you can continue feeding your cat with BW. Yes the cost increased now because GST but the increase is not too much IMO. If you can't afford BW, there's middle-range cat food you can try. Try shop around at local pet stores to know what brands do they have. This post has been edited by kizwan: Apr 6 2015, 12:37 PM

My cat recently be-friend some stray cat and wanted to go out more and more often.
Everytime I found my cat nearby my house - the stray cat is always around... if i walk toward the stray cat, the stray cat will run then my cat will run along with it also....
I dunno what to do except to wait for my cat to come home itself...
Anyone got any experience?

You can try put some food for the stray cat. This may make the stray cat to stay around & also make your cat stay near the house too.

I have 1 indoor cat, befriend 2 stray kittens (grown up already), as outdoor cats. I'd let the indoor play around for a short while with the outdoor cats. The stray cats never leave my house area, thus perfect fit for my indoor cat to play with. I strictly feed the outdoor cats outside and indoor cat indoor. This way, the indoor cat will always come back in for food, pee and poo. This post has been edited by haturaya: Apr 8 2015, 09:24 PM

hi all... i have a one year old cat and i think i might want to adopt a stray kitten that belongs to a foodcourt+market...
what are the precautions in terms of disease? also i know that the area got rats and in fact one of the kitten's sibling is eaten by rats... so i am concerned if there are disease that can pass from rats to cats?
thanks for your advice

Try shop around at local pet stores to know what brands do they have. In my opinion, the major obstacle in buying cat food from pet store, especially if it is not available in major stores are that, once the pet store move/close shop, you'd have hard time to get the food elsewhere. Hence the reason why I am sticking with Whiskas, as easier to find. Even so, the variant for kitten is harder to come by, usually they stock for Adults.

It may cost you some. I usually quarantine them separately from my other cats & if they didn't show any symptoms, then I would start introducing them to other cats. If the cat is a carrier for a disease like cat flu, then the cat won't show any symptoms. So, there's risk of course. Then again if the stray kitten did got cat flu before it's hard for them to survive living outdoor. So if the stray cat is kitten, then you can rule out cat flu, that's for sure. Also if your cat already vaccinated, your cat should already protected. Basically what you can do is bring the kitten for checkup & vaccination.

If you're on a budget, go for basic stuff. Vaccination and deworm. I forgot about what vaccination used for my cat. I'll check it when I got home later and inform you. I think vaccination+deworm is around RM40. But for kitten, you need to come again a month later for another vaccination. and a year later after that.

I will put him in cage during working and sleeping time but he seems to meow forever so when I was at home i try to put him inside the cage and observe him to meow. After awhile, he will pause and quiet for a moment. At that moment i open the cage door let him out and repeat few times until he get the idea of not meowing will get him out but after awhile I decided to just keep him inside one of my toilet with his food, drinks and litter box whenever i was working/sleeping. He meow also when first i close him inside the toilet room but after a week he stop meowing already as he familiar with the time when he can out (morning before i work and evening until night) Hope this help I am new to owning a cat as well
