currently still kept him in cage..only let him out while changing/cleaning the cage for around 1hour..maybe until his fungal gone..it's my wife 1st time keeping cat with fungal, so she quite concern about the cleanliness of the house..his litter box is inside the cage with him the whole time.

I think you need to see a vet, fungus is easy to treat...

is it normal for a cat to hang out or lying down in bathroom most of the time?

I have 8 months old Scottish Fold mix here, when we first got him I bought a pet bed for him and placed it in living room which became his favourite spot to sleep.

but starting last few months,I found him lying in our bathroom in first floor. He didn't do anything, just lying near toilet seat. This usually happen during daytime because after dinner (around 7pm) he's back to his bed again. That's his new routine now and as first time cat owner, should I be worried?

yes. standard bathroom tiles me and my bf always mop the floor after using it.
The cat didn't do anything, just lying while flipping his tail. I let the bathroom door open so he can chill out there.

Cats are weird like that. No need for concern, unless he is sitting in his litterbox for a long time.

guys..my cat really love this spot..im on the 1st floor btw..yeah we all know cat can survive high fall..but from where this cat was adopted, he has no experience in the outside world, so i keep overthinking the phrase "curiosity killed the cat" each time i see him there..we prefer to open the window for better ventilation but not with the cat lepak there.. doh.gif

he might slip and fall perching on the ledge,, little room for error there...

if he is not neutered, better don't let him roam outside...

The average lifespan of an indoor cat is about 10-15 years. The average lifespan of an outdoor cat is about 5-6 years.

Please spay and neuter your cats. Male cats will pee all over your house (marking territory) and female cats will go into heat cycles and also pee all over your house.

hi everybody, happy new year!

first time posting here, need some pointers from you all.

i've been rescuing and taking care of cats around my taman for a few years, budget getting tight nowadays so looking for a budget cat food, cheap but fairly good quality.

i used buttons and bows, now to equilibro since the petshop owner recommend me for it. is this brand ok? how about royal canin fit 32? i think they are similar in pricing. rest of the brands available at my place are much more expensive sweat.gif

For sure they can survive falling from 1st floor but not necessarily from high fall. Please close that window & don't let the cat hangout there because he out of curiosity, jump out. Down there is not good place for a cat to play. You're actually underthinking if you think your cat is fine there.

Introducing him to the outside world? With harness & leash, for sure.

my wife and i need that window to be open so the house could be better ventilated and cooler..yes..i know down there is not a good place for him as a housecat..yesterday we bring him out, but just stay in the car since he never been out of home before with leash and harness ofc..

back to the wall..i did diy some chillout place (attached for reference) for him but on the inside..and put some spiky cat mat and till now he just put his head out from inside the wall..just hopefully he put safety 1st than his curiosity..if he still going out, then i need to put plastic net just to open the window..sigh..

Taste of the Wild, RM25/kg (6.8kg pack, grain free)
Matisse, >RM21/kg (10kg pack, same quality to RC but cheaper price, also got corn)

My favorite is N&D ancestral grain chicken, around RM26/kg (10kg pack, with spelt and oats), % Protein from animal source is 94%. Total protein 36%.

Sorry to hear about your problem, I did share the same concern. Cat couldn't tell when is the right time they are allowed on bed and when is not. So, if you want to keep her off the bed after it did its business, you need to teach it not to use your bed at all. Else, you will make it confuse.

Before you ban your cat from the bed, I think it's only fair if you provide it, its own bed where it can get comfortable with. Then you can slowly teach it to use its own bed instead of yours. Tell her "NO" with stern voice and carry her to her own bed everytime when you caught her using your bed, with no exception. Timing is important, you should say "NO" right before it jumped onto your bed. Once you place her on her own bed, give her treats and lots of praise/attention. You want her to associate her bed with positive outcomes. It takes time but eventually she will figure out that her bed is a better place to hang out and will leave your bed alone.

Also, maybe you want to consider upsizing its litter box as cat is a clean animal, they normally won't step on their own feces unless the litter box is too small for their size or unless if they are still kitten/teens, then they couldn't care less.

In my case, I love it when my cat hangout with me on the bed so I choose to train her to use the toilet seat instead - save cost on litters, no more tracking litters/feces around the house and cleaner paws (unless she accidentally fell into the toilet bowl doh.gif ). Training still in progress and lots and lots of cleaning to be done, wish me luck icon_rolleyes.gif
