Could be due to fungal infection. Can share some photos? My Bengals got ringworm infection on her chest and then spread to the different spot on her chest. I treated her with ACV at home and after few applications can clearly see the result. A few weeks later her fur grows back.

Yup, apple cider vinegar can really do wonders. I even put a small amount in her raw food and rinse her with diluted ACV after the bath, which can also help to repel fleas and ticks.

my cats don't even have their carriers out unless I'm taking them to the vet. They have full reign of the house and can go wherever they please.

back to the wall..i did diy some chillout place (attached for reference) for him but on the inside..and put some spiky cat mat and till now he just put his head out from inside the wall..just hopefully he put safety 1st than his curiosity..if he still going out, then i need to put plastic net just to open the window..sigh..

Sorry to hear about your problem, I did share the same concern. Cat couldn't tell when is the right time they are allowed on bed and when is not. So, if you want to keep her off the bed after it did its business, you need to teach it not to use your bed at all. Else, you will make it confuse.

Before you ban your cat from the bed, I think it's only fair if you provide it, its own bed where it can get comfortable with. Then you can slowly teach it to use its own bed instead of yours. Tell her "NO" with stern voice and carry her to her own bed everytime when you caught her using your bed, with no exception. Timing is important, you should say "NO" right before it jumped onto your bed. Once you place her on her own bed, give her treats and lots of praise/attention. You want her to associate her bed with positive outcomes. It takes time but eventually she will figure out that her bed is a better place to hang out and will leave your bed alone.

Also, maybe you want to consider upsizing its litter box as cat is a clean animal, they normally won't step on their own feces unless the litter box is too small for their size or unless if they are still kitten/teens, then they couldn't care less.

In my case, I love it when my cat hangout with me on the bed so I choose to train her to use the toilet seat instead - save cost on litters, no more tracking litters/feces around the house and cleaner paws (unless she accidentally fell into the toilet bowl  doh.gif ). Training still in progress and lots and lots of cleaning to be done, wish me luck  icon_rolleyes.gif

I'm using CitiKitty Cat Toilet Training kit, you can find in most of the pet store. I use the same litter and scope a small amount from her old litter box to bring her familiar scent to her new toilet. I started with putting her on the seat everyday as frequent as I can and give her treats on the toilet seat. When she started to explore and get familiar her new toilet, I cover up her old litter box. She immediately went for the new toilet to pee. But she was holding and doesn't want to poop on the new toilet. So every night I have to open her old box for her and see if she wants to go. But since she is on raw food diet, she don't really poop everyday. After two weeks or so, she started to poop on the new toilet seat, then i never open back her old litter box since.

She is now on the 2nd hole on the CitiKitty and seem to be having trouble to balance herself but I think that is normal and just part of the learning process. Before you start, I have to warn you that there are lots of cleaning need to be done throughout the training as she kicked the litter all over the floor before she goes, you need to scope the used litter every time after she goes and it can be really gross if your cat got diarrhea during the training.

Btw, how many cats and litter box do you have in total? I only have one cat but I think you need to have at least the equal amount of litter box against the number of cats you have. Maybe that's why it took longer for her to use the litter box?

P.S. conventional covered litter box is bad for your cats esp. if you are using clay type or any litter that produce lots of dust as the dust trapped inside will go into their lungs when they inhale and will cause respiratory problem in long term. I used CatIt SmartSift litter box once, but my cats started to sneeze after using the covered litter box so I did some research and seems like the dust is the root cause.

General rule is number of cats + 1 litterboxes in the house. So if you one cat, you should have two boxes.

I also don't recommend toilet training your cat, mainly because if you wanted to board your cat at a kennel, they use litterboxes. You don't want you confuse your already stressed out cat.

How much is the training kit? Approximately
Might want to train them during CNY holiday

I have 5 adult cats and 1 kitten (knows how to use litter already)
Plus i use crystal type litter(due to less mess and can easily swept away the residue)

I feed them with 90% kibbles 8% wet food and 2%cooked chicken/fish

Wow training 5 cats can be really challenging and time-consuming because their learning curves may be different, be prepared bruce.gif I think the price range is about RM25 - RM35. You also need to change to flushable litter to use the training kit, else the litter may clog your piping. I'm using Cat's Best Öko Plus litter.

Lately i have no time playing with my cat. Normally i would spend at least 30 minutes with him.

As a result, he has twice poop outside his litter box (on different day). My guess is lack of attention to him but just want to get opinion from others.

Cats are not vindictive. He is not pooping outside of his litterbox because you didn't spend time with him. He is trying to send you a message.

There may be something he doesn't like about his box. How often do you clean it? How many do you have? You should have two for one cat.

How recently did this happen? You should talk to your vet about it. Could be a medical problem.

The alpha cat usually does not bury their poop... though one of my cats doesn't bury her poop because she's just dumb.

doesn't matter the gender. Is your cat neutered? I suggest you get that done.
