called up hsbc cs asked about email statement. asked do i register using the sms (see pic), he said you can but wont get the full statement - just a summary and no detail breakdown of your usage. Asked how to get a detail breakdown email statement? he said must called them to register.

anyway I didnt have the time and I think he is bs me. I doubt there are two kinds of email statements so i registered using SMS.

received a confirmation sms that reads - Thank you for your registration. An email confirmation will be send to the registered email within 4-8 weeks"

4-8 weeks? are you kidding me HSBC? LOL

Basically, as far as I understand, Islamic credit card uses a fixed management fee instead of the conventional interest. But then they "refund" you back based on the card's balance, which makes the amount that you get charged the same as the interest from a conventional credit card. The only difference from a conventional credit card is that the management fee is not compounding. Also the card is issued by the Islamic branch of the bank (e.g. Maybank Islamic Bank, CIMB Islamic Bank, Public Islamic Bank), which I'm guessing ensures that the source of the money is "clean".

But as others have mentioned, if you have no intention of paying interest, no need to worry about it. I never actually looked up at the interest rate of any of the credit cards that I've applied so far, simply because I never intend to pay interest.

Great, However once U have registered at their Online Banking they Won't email any Statement to You & got to Login for Checking the Balance or Downloading Statement (once Login click on Statement & advice on the left).
The only Good thing HSBC do is they SMS to inform Statement (Date) Balance to u on time.
