You mean if we use the card for normal purchase after we did the BT using HSBC, we will be charged interest for the normal purchase? Is this true?

As I understand for other bank, even if we have BT, we still can use it for normal purchase without any interest.

Of course, make FULL Payment on time. So there should be no interest charge on the Normal Purchase right?

Please, I need someone to clarify about this.

Thanks.

based on my conversation with the HSBC officer, their BT is a bit different which mean if you have BT from their card, better don use for any purchase if not better make payment to the card immediately if not there will be interest charge. so my advice is after BT just keep it inside drawer.

If you get installment plan 1.88% or 2.88% one (im taking this one), it convert one of your transaction to 6 month or 12 month. This type it will show separate category with how many balance left in the installment and it will show the one time installment in every statement. So you just follow how much balance it shows and make full payment accordingly. However, if you took the 0% balance transfer, it will only show full amount of BT, without split them into 12 month or 6 month. So it is dangerous to use as it will be very confusing if you don't know how to count how much you need to pay. You still can use the card after BT, just it is very high chance to be charged interest.

Dear all,

Just sharing, when performing payment to ur HSBC credit card, please make sure u perform ur payment 2-3 days in advance before the due date. If the payment fall on a weekend please make sure to give 1 more day extra for the fund to be credited and cleared.

As in the past, based on my dealings with other banks, they allowed a grace period of 2-3 days for the payment to be cleared before the finance charges kicks in. On my recent encounter, i was impose with finance charges from HSBC due to they only received my funds after 2-3 days upon my transfer through inter-bank. Further to that, my statement due date was on a weekend, hence no processing was done during the 2 days.

To avoid such charges, please be extra careful when dealing with HSBC.

I have requested for cancellation, as im unhappy on the dealing, and i do foresee potential recurring charges for my upcoming bills. Then its a end to my HSBC.

hi haru, you can call up the CS to ask for leniency. if the amount is not large or you are regular good paymaster, they have no problems to cancel the charges.

I have requested them to waived it, but they say the occurrence of waiver can only be perform every 6 months, since i have waived my last month finance charges, they are unable to perform for the current month. Monetary wise the finance charges is just barely RM10, but its the hassle require to follow up and called up each time.

Therefore, moving forward please decide ur waiver wisely as u only have 6 months buffer. Im not aware that other banks having such practice.

Do be extra careful on dealings with HSBC, they seem to have change their SOP. Been a loyal HSBC card member since 2011, been granted auto waiver on the annual fee but due to the hassle of calling and appealing to them, maybe i shall call an end to my relationship with HSBC. sad.gif mega_shok.gif

Wow, that's dangerous, no wonder they like to offer 0% BT during the time you apply New Card online (Take Bundle).

Somemore, they offer existing credit card member to get Gift for other New CC, other bank like PB, SCB, RHB don't have such practice to give new gift to existing customer when you apply for another card.

Thanks a lot for the advise given. rclxms.gif

It's subjective.

If you hold 5 CC and you only got 1 remark for late while others are spotless, basically you're still in the clear.

Actually I not sure how they run this campaign

During December 2016, me n my bro apply for the HSBC card. The campaign for the time is any swipe/rm1000 spend within 60days for rm300 Lazada voucher. Not sure about the campaign period on that time.

Then on January/Feb  HSBC come out with the new campaign rm500 lazada.

My card approved earlier than my bro. I get it by December 2016 while my bro on Jan 2017.

I swipe the required amount earlier than my bro. My first statement is 24jan2017.

But my bro get the voucher first(middle of march). Me only get yesterday after complaint a lot time. So basically I no idea how they do thing.

Since we get more than initially though, we jz leave it. Haha
