I just signed up for this and it came with a credit card too so I selected the HSBC Amanah MPower Platinum-i.

I thought the CB was a pretty good deal especially for groceries. then i saw on this thread that it was only if you spent more than RM2k and the fact that the 8% CB is a time-limited offer which ends at the end of the year..Was feeling pretty good about this card till i read thru all this. zzz

The GSC buy 1 free 1 offer also ends at the end of the year...

Would I still be eligible for the free tix offer at link below seeing as how I did not sign up thru the website? I just dropped a text to the salesgirl to confirm

Just saw this acquisition offer on Ringgitplus.

Free Blackberry Z3 Smartphone - offer ends 6pm today, 27 Oct.

https://ringgitplus.com/en/credit-card/HSBC/

Not sure about the quality of the phone, but probably better than Lenovo.

Word of caution, not sure if this is true for CIP.

HSBC has a peculiar way of calculating interest, unlike other banks in Malaysia.
As long as you have an outstanding amount, i.e. Balance Transfer (not sure about CIP), if you use the card during the tenure, it will be subjected to finance charges.

To be sure, please confirm with CS.

Hmm..so this means if u apply for a new HSBC card just to take advantage of the zero % CIP program, u must not use it for any retail purchases.

i was quoting using my BT experience.

For CIP, i have a feeling it might be the same algorithm, but you should clarify with the CS. They may not share this piece of information unless you ask them.

Usually I get what I planned for from HSBC, for example the groceries and petrol promotion in early 2016 (3x RM 50 for RM 20 cash back)

And the July campaign, I am expecting RM 300 cash back but so far still receive nothing.
*
Still nothing for the July campaign? Based on TNC, should be paid out some time in October.

Nothing at my end.

Hmm I applied HSBC Amanah MPower Platinum Credit Card-i but somehow they sent me HSBC Visa Platinum. I know that the former is free of annual fee for first year but I am not sure about the latter one. I am afraid now they will charge me the annual fee.

Update: Gave the bank a call and they say they can waived it....not only on first year but any other years as well hmm.gif Does sound too good to be true.
