Wah...Some more PB this time..  thumbup.gif
Good Luck for you to win all 8 Angpow: 8 x RM 888 = RM 7104.00
By the way, any leng lui in OCBC Penang?
*
He he, many leng lui in their PB center !

I was impressed with OCBC as about 3 years ago I went to their normal branch (not PB branch). As I need to use their wash room, one of their staff opened it for me which is supposed to be for their staff use only. I mentioned this 3 years back, I think.

OCBC opened a new PB center in Penang few months back. Rather IMPRESSIVE !! rclxms.gif The best of the PB centers that I have seen in Penang. CB one used to impress me, but no fight with this one !! SCB, UOB PB center far behind the OCBC one. Best of all is the leng lui there. drool.gif

The RM that served me is a former MAS air stewardess !! Really a leng lui. drool.gif She looked like one Taiwan actress.

However the whole process of opening acct there took >1.5hrs !! Except enjoyed to be with the RM, ha ha. laugh.gif tongue.gif

Also opened a Smart Saver account with RM210.

Scb 4.28% is applicable only for PB (meaning AUM of 250k)

you need to put and maintain 20k in CA, and the rest in SA will get 4.28% for 6 months.

Thank you for your info. notworthy.gif
The previous 4% bonus saving promo is better than this one.
RM 20K in CA got no interest; unless if can put big amount to SA.

Are you participating this SCB 4.28% bonus saving?

SCB leng lui told me for Islamic FD need cheque to clear. But since conventional FD is available I don't bother with the issue and just placed FD for the conventional one.

But not surprising about the Islamic requirement. HL Bank Islamic have the same requirement. I lose 2 days interest when I placed FD there last year.  shakehead.gif

Forgot to mention that SCB PB center offered to mail the FD cert to me. Good as I do not need to wait there. rclxms.gif

Also free parking for 1.5hrs. Too shy to ask for longer hrs when she offered "is 1.5hrs enough ?". I actually went to OCBC PB center which is nearby SCB location. tongue.gif

He he, have to contain the inner desire. Else get into unnecessary problem. brows.gif tongue.gif

Leng lui wise, they seems to have the most. Should have joined their PB earlier. I heard in Penang OCBC is now aggresively pushing for PB. They rennovated a BIG & NEW PB center with impressive furnishing. rclxms.gif

However for the Ang Pow Contest, the leng lui RM seems NOT aware of it. I have to tell her to check their website. The same happens to SCB leng lui, also not aware of some of their promotions. Seems to be internal bank communication for local banks also. shakehead.gif

Guys I'm at cimb opening FD account 4.15% for 12mth. However the staff recommend me Islamic FD which is 4.2% or even better AManah saham gemilang which pays 6-7% at least.
Now my question is what's the difference between Islamic n conventional FD. And if ASG pays so well why ppl still keep FD?

For ASG you have to pay 5% sales charge and the return is like unit trust depending on market. It's advisable to hold at least 3 years to have a chance to recover the 5% sales charge incurred initially.

For bumi it's ASB in which they can get up to 10% dividen. No funky charges it seems.

Just bought them last September, so no dividend yet. Used RHB as they rebate 2.5% fees. rclxms.gif

Bought all 3 of the funds: Pendidikan, Kesihatan & Persaraan. As I bought in Sept last year, now barely break even. shakehead.gif

But for UT, have to hold for typically few years at least to realize the returns, if any. So high risk and high return (or negative return !!).

UOB plan to move their PB center to a next door bungalow. That will be interesting ! Except they have been talking about it for at least 2 or 3 years ! biggrin.gif

Currently they have 5 RM's there, same as SCB. OCBC has 10 and plan to increase to 15. Hopefully even more leng lui. biggrin.gif tongue.gif

Looking at the t&c for CIMB unfixed FD promo, 4.20% for islamic FD but can't find any drawback compared to the conventional FD..is there any?

Wanted to move funds from CIMB by issuing a banker's cheque. The teller asked why and I said FD to UOB. She mentioned about the unfixed FD promo but I said it requires fresh fund. She said she can help to bypass the fresh fund requirement, so I placed under the above i-FD promo. Save RM5.15 banker's cheque and 60 cents parking fee tongue.gif
