I'm interested in the PBB FD promo. Anyone knows if I issue a personal check for the FD, is the FD effective date applicable on the date I deposit the check or the date when the personal check is cleared? Thanks

QUOTE(nexona88 @ Feb 20 2015, 01:15 PM) I think max banks can go now is 4.5%.. More than that is very risky & could "hurt" the bank that's why u see only 4.5% not 4.8% or 5% All the banks are making billions of profit every year...surely an increase of 0.3% or 0.5% wont hurt their bottom line. The question which bank will step up their game to fight for our money?

QUOTE(bbgoat @ Feb 27 2015, 05:16 PM) Quite a few of us has opened the JustOne acct with zero amt there ! Ah Boom and myself have done that last year. Now waiting for crediting of interest in March ( 6 mth interest ). I see...just wondering any of you have priority banking with SCB? The leng lui keep asking me to join their priority banking and told me that the interest now is 4.28%, daily rest! If so good then no need put in FD anymore! Dunno whether to trust this leng lui or not?

QUOTE(BoomChaCha @ Mar 1 2015, 10:34 PM) You mean SCB 9 Months FD is 4.28% now? So far, I see the only benefit to join SCB priority banking is to take advantage of the priority saving account promo. SCB 9 month FD is still 4.25%, just made a deposit few days ago... I think the leng lui is talking about the priority saving account promo. Do you have any info? Also this leng lui asks me to invest in bonds returns 6% pa. The bond is issued by TF Varlik Kiralama AS...according to leng lui their credit rating is AA3......

QUOTE(BoomChaCha @ Mar 1 2015, 10:55 PM) My SCB 4.00% priority saving account 6 months promo was ended yesterday. So I have to withdraw all money and put it in some where else, maybe I will put in HSBC 5% for 3 months..? You mean leng lui said the 4.28% is for priority saving account promo..? I do not have any info, I just heard about it from you. I am interested if this 4.28% is available.. That's what was told by the leng lui when i went to deposit FD. Leng lui said they have a priority savings of 4.28% so asked me to join the PB since I'm new to their bank. Anyway you can check with your RM if this is applicable to old members too?

QUOTE(spurswong @ Mar 9 2015, 12:03 PM) Just called Stanchart 03-77118888, the FD promo for 15mth at 4.5% is only for Islamic FD not conventional as stated earlier in this forum. Can anybody verify this? Thanks. Just go to the branch to place it. They still have the conventional FD 15mth 4.5%. Best deal right now!

QUOTE(BoomChaCha @ Mar 9 2015, 09:40 PM) Does anybody know the ringgit value of this 20" luggage from Ringgit Plus? Let's say if put RM 30k in SCB and OCBC respectively: SCB 4.5% for 15 months vs. OCBC 4.2% for 12 months: SCB: RM 1350 interest OCBC: RM 1260 interest Difference: additional RM 90 for SCB, it is 15 months tenure with every 6 month interest The value of the trolley bag should cost less than rm90. 20inch is very small trolley bag. If they give 24inch or 28inch trolley bag would be very nice...
