I got 50% to 60% of my speed back with some setting change. Something you guys can try. smile.gif

I set to 1 download torrent only and 1 seed torrent only. Global max connection to 60 and 50 connection per torrent. Max Global dl speed to 80% of my package, global up at 10%. Encryption On. That's it. No proxy setting or tunneling. By doing this I'm getting the result that is similar to the proxy thing that some of you are trying. Setting the number of connection too high or low will result in < 3kb/s speed. So you likely need to play around with the numbers. I start with 10-10 and work my way up. For you info, some of my torrents take up to 20min to get going. So you need to wait. Turn the encryption off will get your torrent going pretty fast but the speed will always be <5kb/s. Same thing happens if you're dling more then 1 torrent at a time. cry.gif

The end result is that I get my files in about double the time it normally took before tm bandwidth when on fasting. Meaning files that normally take 2 hours to get, now take little over 4. The speed during dl range for ~0.1 kb/s to Max, over all about 50% to 60% of norm base on time need to complete a torrent.

BTW I'm using utorrent. Doing on BitComet (what I normally use) I got back 40% at most. If someone using other appz and with this setting tweaks trick and getting better result plz let me know. sweat.gif

Calling all ST users !

I can still use my ST account (which ofers good speeds ~80 kbs), however I'd appreciate if someone could comment on d performance of this proxy (I am a newbie, excuse my mistakes).

It seems that I cannot log in to my ST account without having IP range 38.119.107.192-207 excluded from PeerGuardian (spy) list (ie. I have 2 make it able to access my computer). Also, if I specify this IP range as banned IP in my firewall settings, I will not be able 2 connect to ST. The said IP uses d same port (22) as ST and belongs to PSI group (specifically to a legal practice involved in c/right protection activities).

Could someone pls interpret these, personally I am not very comfortable with the fact that someone is (automatically) monitoring and watching over my shoulder, esp. when I assume I use encrypted services, the question is: are they reliable then?

Not so sure how "reliable" they are in terms of security. The way I look at it is either you take the risk and enjoy the benefits of faster downloading or decide your ensured security is worth more and suffer sub 10kBs speeds. I am choosing the former until such time as a more suitable alternative appears.

Assuming FTP transfers are not throttled another way to get around the throttling would be to use the services of a torrent host such as www.mrgigabit.com or www.ttorrent.net - have them download the files for you and then ftp from them. Of course this service is not free.

At the moment I am looking into the feasibility of using a shell host - connecting to the shell via puTTy and running azurues through that using a sockscap.

Interesting option. I think ttorrent.net is running a customized version of torrentflux on their server boxes. So, basically you could set up the same thing yourself if you can find a web host who doesn't mind torrents on their network.

Anyone using their service??

Here's a DIY guide to getting torrentflux running. Bit short on details, but it gives you the idea on web-server based BT

Hello xxxxx,

Unfortunately because of conflicting issues and suspicious account information Secure-Tunnel at this time does not feel comfortable establishing a relationship. Sorry!
You have not been charged by Secure-Tunnel.com and the transaction has been voided. So there was nothing stolen because we didn't except your payment.

Thanks,

1 of the thing i notice that can get help get back normal pre-throttle speed is having 1 seed from japan in your peer list, when i have at least 1 japan seed in my peer list, my download speed will be maxed out at 50-60kbs(i am using 512k package), icon_rolleyes.gif

so this is 1 alternative to using those ST services or proxies, if anyone of u have friend or relative in japan that share BT download interest like u, u may add them in your peer list, then when you download same file, i am pretty sure you can get back unthrottle speed, flex.gif

too bad i dun hav anyone i kno in japan that can help me, cry.gif

i can just pray that i see a flag of the rising sun in my peer list whenever i download, sweat.gif

Proxies doesn't seem to be working for me anymore. So I might consider trying out Relakks since I heard it seems to be working again.

Never thought life would be that hard without p2p....
I wonder how long will it take for us to be saved from our misery. Or will it be like this from now on? Thats just scary.

The way they limiting it is so unfair...

Other ISP limits the speed, TmNet is crippling p2p entirely...
