How come i get the feeling that the masa yang dijangkakan will be much longer than what they claim and btw..i'm currently getting around 25kb/s, thanks to a Canadian seeder just pray that it lasts...and i'm not using any tunneling service

for the time being, i guess proxy, vpn are our only options. i don't put much hope on them about removing the cap. TMNet, i don't trust them at all. i use it because i have no choice. i been using it since its 1st launch years ago. i won't mind paying double, or even triple of the price that i'm paying now to have a proper broadband with no capping of whatsoever. until then, we do what we can. if you rely on them, you will go nuts.

If you guys are using VPN or proxy, isnt it defeating the purpose of the nutz limiting international bandwidth. Either way, you are still utilizing the int'l bandwidth right?

Either way, you are still utilizing the int'l bandwidth right? from what i've noticed, they didn't limit all international connection. they targetted on P2P. with proxy and such, data is highly encrypted accross the network thus throttling is impossible, period.

I was mucking around with Azureus a few days ago (normally a utorrent user) and got a steady connection to a single Canadian peer as well at about 30kb/s speed for the whole download (350MB). Normally, fast overseas seeders have an initial burst of speed and then die down. It was very strange that the Canadian could give me that speed for over 2 hours. Maybe TMNet has not mapped this IP range to their hardware for shaping??

VPN and proxy are different than direct use of BT... These 2 so called application masking the used of BT, as for VPN, they can only see one connection made coz u're connected to VPN first, BT second... as for proxy, it depends actually...if your froxy is within this region, TM prolly only detect multiple attempts of connection through it to get to proxy, then only routed to other BT peers...some proxy can handle multiple connections, some can't...for me, proxy works zilch...no difference with or without proxy.... thats why VPN works better than proxy....
The way TM throttle our bandwidth overall is wrong....if they throttle based on protocol, only BT and other p2p app will suffer....instead, they throttle the whole download link...darn stupid...the effects to the users are random, some got good browsing, but bad download and streaming....some got bad browsing, dowload and streaming are good...to the unfortunate, everything is affected...
As for now, i'll just bear with it until next year, if what they, TM said is true...

LoL, removing the throttling after getting fatter pipes? Got people buying this ma?
Now their bandwidth overselling rate is about 400% only, i bet their target is 1000%...
Damn, if this continues, i think there is no need for 1mbps line, 512k is more than enough lo. So now they refuse to spend several hundred k per month on more lines, if say like there are 100k of 1mbps users downgrade their package, they gonna suffer 2 million of losses per month...
But anyhow, i still hope it's true, the super turtle speed forces me to on my pc 24/7 (previously half day only), this makes my electricity bill higher too u know... zzz

QUOTE(almaty @ Oct 12 2006, 08:08 AM) errr...my bm is suffering alzheimers so i wanna clarify...that part starting with MALANGnya...which i believe is bad news... so...does it mean that once their software detect P2P activity, it will THROTTLE EVERYTHING? yes, should be everything, try download http you will notice the speed goes up and down, we could get constant max speed last time, but now it fluctuates.

Thread cleaned. Alot of rants going on now. This topic was created to discuss on methods for bypassing their suspected throttling. If you wish to rant, you can do so here.

Don't use the main isec connection thingy, won't transfer any data to me as well for some reason. Use PPTP instead.

QUOTE(almaty @ Oct 12 2006, 09:49 AM) hmmmm...how are other isps dealing with p2p? do they also throttle the entire subscribers line when p2p is detected or do they only drop p2p packets and everything else is still ok? is tmnet following best practices? or are they "intentionally" making our lives a misery by throttling the entire connection when p2p is detected? i have a big problem with this, throttling everything including basic browsing/email is ridiculous. tmnet WINS again by reducing bandwidth we are able to use for VALID usage. monopolist always win.
