I only have issues with the brake ngumm noise when close to a complete stop while braking, or when the brakes are released in D from a complete stop, but not if the brakes are hot from extended travelling and braking (I do a lot of short distance travelling only, rarely need to use the brake since I don't have the tendency to do a 100% throttle & braking).

Have you tried servicing your brake caliper pins? Maybe they're not moving well.

thx for your reply.

I also have the brake ngumm noise when complete stop. But the noise I mentioned is totally different, it sound like ngewww ~ when the brake is cold/too hot and get wet. So everytime I out from the car wash or driving in rain, my brake is making noise which is very loud whenever i press the brake. the sound is loud til other driver oso can hear it. this reali made me very paiseh lar...

last time did get my brake caliper pins serviced and it moving well. So i think it might not the caliper pin problem. Any brake specialist sifu to recommend?

mine is PE standard. my brake disc will sound like that like u said. in the morning and raining. after I wash my car also sound. so I just bare with it la because my father's mercedes e200 also got brake sound like metal clashing, so maybe its normal I think. if I wan to make it shut up, I will press and depress several times then the sound will disappear. I read somewhere its because of the disc rotor get rusty. but in your case you changed your disc already, dont know whats the problem. unsure.gif

What brake pad you're using now? Probably the mechanic didn't put the shim for the brake pad that might cause the sound.

The review on the front page brakes if i remember correctly, was that braking improved but a lot of dust and wear rates were very fast. my persona fastback using Trestor Metallic Plus, bought from forum. No sound, same factory as Bendix but wont wear into your rotors like Bendix does.

http://www.trestor.com.my/products02.asp

so far so good, all around disc brakes. just my 5 cents.

ABS??? - Aku Brake Sendiri!!!

On the topic of brakes....the stock SV brakes is really sweat.gif even with all round discs.

Don't buy into the SC telling you "ABS/EBD brakes are liddat", my other ABS cars brake much better.

Will better pads improve it?

1)Serdang SC - http://worldcarcare.com.my/WorldCarCare.html
Reasons: Best customer service in all reviews.

2) CoSE (beside Kesas) - Head towards Klang on Kesas and you will pass by the biggest Proton billboard you'll ever see. Thats the place.

Tel: 03-80269333

HQ, easy to claim warranty and reflash ECU. Have to make appointment b4 going there. Can bring own Lube

3) Juru SC (Penang) - Can bring own lube.

4) Trend point - Along Jalan Tun Razak. (Still under review, first review was bad, but a warranty claim experience after that shows that they're quite efficient and able to detect problems that even CoSE denies.)

Unrecommended SC (TRY TO AVOID AT ALL COST!)

1) Sin Siang Hin sdn. bhd. all Klang Valley branches - bad service and they whack ur car like they pay for petrol
2) Senaxis Sdn Bhd No. 50, Jalan SS26/ 11, Taman Mayang Jaya, Petaling Jaya, 47301 SELANGOR Tel: 012-3283123 Fax: 03-78048753
