Its to keep consistency. You know how some people like to build a castle if permitted

Not castle.

More like a cage to keep themselves in.

WTH, your own property also can't fence up. What else U can't do ? I suppose can put up 2 poles and string then to hang clothes to dry, can, right ? Can keep dogs n cats ?
*
Oh, they don’t allow us to keep livestock with us. Pay so much cannot even keep live lembu, kambing and ayam.

On the other hand, there are cheaper semi D around the area which I believe that you could renovate your house to add the 16th floor if you want to as long it’s approved by whatever jabatan is

To U, they r like cages; to them, they are like in a castle, fully protected against the bad elements outside. Both parties happy - win win situation. As long as U R happy, no need to bother with what others think.

True, that's why not everyone can own and live in a strata gated and guarded landed house. It's a selling point but it's also a deterrent for some.

When u value the security here, u know u don't need grill or high fence smile.gif

Another advantage of owning strata properties is you can sell it to foreigners, as long as it's above 2mil

DPC is also strata title right?
But I think JMC allowed extension at the back of the house.

No... more on those traditional mindset i.e dont want to be control by house rules set by jmb..so they can do whatever they want on the house both internally and externally. Also strata title prop normally comes with higher maintenance fees..many traditional cina apak mindset will not be willing to pay that...

From what I understand once the strata title of the unit is out, it’s at the discretion of JMCs to approve the building extension with their own requirement.

Monthly maintenance of over RM600+ is one thing, but who is going to pay the skyhigh monlhly loan ? The son might not have enuf income to do that.

Depending on how good and scope of the management, maintenance fees could double every 10 years or so, unless one prepared to accept deteriorated condition. It is reasonable to assume maintenance fees will over RM2000 per month in 20 years time.

U mean most people would not like master bedroom and living room to be in front of the house ? So they prefer the opposite diesign, Grasilis, where the master bedroom and living room are located at the back of the house ?

I think the key difference is Grasilis kitchen is at the front and there is no sliding door at the side to the garden.
