If I'm not wrong some of the local Big 4s have an online recruitment form for you to fill up. Either that or get someone from the forums to pass in your resume for you. I've done it before for a few forum-ers.

Usually a month or so.... RM 1.5k is definitely under paid for fresh grad in Big4. Not too sure about smaller firms though.

I think it is. small firms in Klang Velley seems to be around 1.8k, so 1.5k is very low.

yup.. my fren already "survey" the market pay offered by small firms.. the most that he can get is RM1.6k only..

as im not confident to pass all my papers in June 2008, i have changed my mind to work in small or medium firm first.. rather than working in Big4..

the market pay for small firm is around 1.3-1.6k depending on your area. you might get 1.8k if lucky. smile.gif
i found that your situation is quite similar with me. perhaps you could try to apply medium firm as what i did.
yes P is very strict in recruitment. i din't even get called for interview cry.gif

That's because you are an intern.. Interns are treated differently. Nobody will say anything if you want to go back by 5.30 or 6pm.. It's already expected..
who is your interviewer? so you are joining assurance? finish exam adi or still got professional papers to take?
*
Agree ! No one could leave without inform the senior. But they dont care much about the intern. Better enjoy this moment.

When did you send in your applications to the each of the Big 4? Typically the Big 4 have a response time of 2-4 weeks to decide though alot also depends on the person who'll eventually be your boss. If they don't feel they have the right person yet they might wait longer before confirming. BTW, what position did you apply for?

RM1,500 is low. That was starting pay for many fresh grads 8-10 years ago... after factoring the kadar inflasi (even at Malaysia's suspiciously low average of 4-6%), the NPV for that now should be a fair bit higher (not that I actually remember how to calculate NPV anymore).

i applied for Audit Assistant position as i am a fresh grad.

erm.. sent my application about 1 or 2 weeks ago.. cant really remember it exactly..
so far, only K replied me.. but i've been rejected.. tongue.gif

btw.. wanna ask something off topic here.. i've gotten an email reply from one of the firm, and this firm asked me to call them back to arrange for interview.. Normally, company will call the candidate right??
I was thinking whether that company want to save telephone calls? lolz biggrin.gif

Which firm is this? Well, candidates should also show some initiative and call them back - imagine everyone believes the same as you, HR will be stuck making dozens of calls a day just for this. It's probably not the most cost effective way to do things - especially since arranging for recruitment interviews is just about 10% of their work.

Hi, can share with us what questions ur interviewer ask u? and how long was the interview?

wasn't really something out of ordinary, but u need to be confident and always remember to smile and start and end with a firm handshake with your interviewer.

QUOTE(ThanatosSwiftfire @ Jul 19 2008, 10:47 AM)

i understand that EY has two main offices, one at the menara millenium(audit, tax) and jalan sultan ismail for transaction advisory(is it?). so,if i accept the main office at menara millenium,is there any transport to go there or any convenient per entry parking fee ,coz if im driving,i think its difficult to get parking there with per entry fare..

REALLYYYYYYYYYYY?!?! I find that EXTREMELY surprising considering that there's an open air car park there that most EY staff use. Maximum RM 7 per day. Other modes of transport = bus, but don't ask me what number.

SJGT is not unpopular. Its just not in the Big 4. As you can see the title of the thread its "Big 4 recruitment drive". SJGT is a medium sized audit firm and thus does not fall under the category of Big 4.
