It really depends.
Based on time to get there and location / distance.
I got lots of colleagues driving back and forth to Port Klang, Bangi and KLIA area. Distance quite far but they love the allowance and less jam. Knowing auditors, they probably speed at least 150km on the highway.

Hi topace111, may I know which firm you work in?

some even travel from Bangi? it must be tiring for them too, especially when they work until midnight then have to drive all the way back to Bangi.

just tumpang ask a bit, this firms are they hiring based like those college intakes which occured only X times a year or we can still apply for job application any time?

Hi there. I am a 2nd year student of Sunway University College. I am currently applying to undergo my internship for a 3month period beginning 13th December 2010-04th March 2011. I have applied to the Big 4 but till now, I have not received any reply.

I am posting this is to seek assistance if any one of the members of this forum can assist me to be accepted as an intern in any of the Big 4.

I am currently enrolled in the BSc (Hons) Accounting & Finance. I have been averaging CGPA 3.0 and above (B grade) throughout my degree programme. I am a committed individual who is proficient in English and Bahasa Malaysia (spoken and written).

If any kind members can assist me to apply as an audit intern in any of the Big 4, you can send me a PM and I can forward to you my relevant documents . It was always my ambition and intention to be attached to a Big 4 and I will be honoured if I am accepted.

Thank you for your time.

When did you apply? I just applied to Ernst & Young and Deloitte today but I'm just a first year student from the University of Melbourne, same majors as yours. My roommate, also first year same majors applied to E & Y about a month ago, he got a phone interview after about 3 weeks, almost a month. After the phone interview which is just a formality, E & Y posted some documents to Melbourne for him to sign, after signing just send it back and you're done. I'll PM you my email.

I suggest you apply through the websites, which i believe you had already done so.

If you haven't receive any reply from them after 2weeks, do call them to enquire.

Hope it helps.

When talked about location, better hope for short or long distance client. Short = saves time. Long = definitely stay hotel (thats why i love outstation clients).

KPMG, Del and PwC I believe got seasonal intakes or batches. EY all year round cos people also leave all year round

KPMG I'm pretty sure it's similar with EY, 2 intakes every month, just that their intakes vary depending on certain months of the year. PWC definitely seasonal, not too sure about Del.

Good for them (the company la, not you), since they are sooooooooo CHOOSY. rclxms.gif

For EY, I guess they are extremely busy now and could only be hiring later.

Fortunately I have signed the offer letter from an IB where distance and salary are far better than Audit firm and I am going to pursuit further studies, could be CFA. So good lucks to all people who are applying for Big4.

I'll just like to ask if between the choices of:

a) applying for Big 4 job/intern after completing ACCA (doing full-time job at small audit firm)
b) applying for Big 4 job/intern while taking ACCA
c) applying for Big 4 job/intern after completing ACCA (study full-time)

which would be better to boost my chances of entering big 4?

I tempted to enter KPMG internship at the moment but the salary there will be less than half of what I am earning and I am by no means guaranteed of a job at KPMG after my internship. BTW, I am now doing option A but I am contemplating applying for Big 4 job/internship if it means I can get a full-time job.

Advice?
