hi sifu sifu's, can you guys roughly guide me to what i need to do?
i think i have the rough idea already but i just need to be sure about it.
currently driving the new saga, with stock everything. and i also have in possession of a 4ch amp, 1 comp set, and 1 xover.
so now, i want to get rid of all my stock speakers and maintain my stock hu till i have enough for a decent upgrade, and planning for prolly 1 10" subs for later.
should i hook the 4ch amps and get 2 chs for the comp set and leave the other 2 empty first, then i just leave the xover out of the picture till i get a sub? the 4 ch amp (alpine MRP - F240) should be sufficient enough to power 1 comp set and 1 sub right?

sell the xover and save up for new HU, just use the hi pass and lo pass filters on the amp
can use stock HU with the alpine 4ch first because it can accept speaker level input, no need to buy hi-lo convertor
just power just the comps first and later the sub.

You might want to check your wire connection at the battery and the fuse connection. I have the same problem in the past and was rectified after I changed the fuse. Sometimes, the fuse is not in good condition so current flow is affected hence u may face power discruption.

in car audio, waht u pay is what u get, thats why component set always more expensive than coaxials, and of coz sounds a lot better too.
instead of using amp + coaxials, better use that money just buy component set. add amp when u have budget later on...

Hi sifus, i'm planning to buy a component set to replace my front speakers. do i need an amp to get better sound quality or just replace the old speakers with the new component speakers?
Can i buy a 2 channel amp to power my front components and let my rear speakers directly connected to the HU? If i do this, is there any configurations i need to do to the fader or others?
THX

lets say if ur budget is 5k, i'll give u an example setup dat fits ur budget. i am not so sure for the prices but it's not very expensive. for HU, get alpine 9887 1.3k new or pioneer P80RS 1.6k new, or u can find some 2nd hand HU like eclipse 7100 or 7200, alpine 9835, 9855, 9812, 7998 oso can and cheaper. for mid end comp speaker ranges from rm700-1200, Boston Acoustics S60, Alpine type R, DLS R6A, Peerless Definition, Focal Access or Polyglass, Eton PRO170, Vifa drivers if u plan to play active and the list goes on. Amp: ~rm1.5 - 2k i suggest getting some 2nd hand amps for cost saving, ask zenn to recommend u some nice amps. dun worry abt durability of 2nd hand amps, gud quality amps are made to last long. then now to the subs, a single 12" sub will do rite? try to get a sub around rm500 then it will all fit to ur budget. just remember to stay away from china made brands and fake stuffs.
