abt accessories shop i not so sure, u have to ask the locals. i'm from sabah so can't help u. active setup gives u flexibility in tuning i.e. independent crossover, EQ, time alignment and gain control on each channel, and each speaker gets its own amplification, meaning 4 speakers need a 4ch amp, the passive crossovers of the comp set are not used in this setup. while passive, like the name sounds, using the passive crossovers. not much flexibility in tuning. all these mostly depends on which HU u are getting and if the HU has the capability to play active.

it's better to get a seperate amp for the sub so dat it wun suck up too much power. and usually bridged 4ch might not be enuf to feed a sub unless u get a 150rms sub. i suggest 2pcs of 2ch amp.

Pros out there,

My player only have a pair of RCA out(rear).I want to use a 4ch amp,2ch for rear and another 2ch bridged for sub.I know that i could split it into 2 pair but then, would there be any sound quality drop?

most 4ch amps can accept input from a single rca, theres a switch for it, should be written something like "sum or separate"

Sifu's I need some recommendation

Few days back, my amp finally gave way. Sigh, one of the transistors broke off and fried the board. sigh.

Anyways biggrin.gif I am looking at new Amps to power my component set up. Any recommendation.

I found a Lanzar for 300 bucks. advisable ? second hand.

Thanks,
AR.

it's just like mercedes oso got different classes. every manufacturer has low to hi end products of their own. Lanzar i would say it's quite a gud brand for beginners. i've had Lanzar 6x9" before and it served me well. u can check the model at the official website or google it for more info and reviews.

yup it's gud enuf. 4x100w. fake or not, very hard to say. as far as i know no fake lanzars, just some imitation copying its series, i.e. Vibesound. otherwise, this amp shud not be a problem. try to look inside the interior of the amp for visible damage like blown IC or bloated capacitor due to abuse of the amp.
