QUOTE(sKypRiNcE734 @ Dec 5 2014, 02:33 PM) Oh okay, haha.how much? From my experience, Petronas is the best petrol for exora so far. However don't pump RON97 into exora since it will be wasted. Exora compression ratio is too low to benefit extra RON.I started to pump 97 fuel now from petronas. No more PETRON.i see Petronas is better. |

I wonder if it is the same for our Malaysian petrol Here's some articles that I relate the volatility rating, to the difference of FC given by Shell vs Petronas: AAA.com Page 28 Michigan.gov Quote from Michigan.edu: » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Distillation of Shell 95 vs Primax 95 10%: 49 - 74 50%: 100 - 115 90%: 170 - 180 |

I think Shell isnt the best friend to Exora.
Previously i was on several fill ups of Petron. Then few days ago, with my fuel gauge still remaining 2 bars left, my father took it for a drive, and fill up RM 80 worth of Shell. Just FYI, after i last filled up with Petron, i reset the Average Fuel consumption, took it for a drive to Klang to and fro, and was using the highway (including speeding up to 130km/h) . I did encounter some traffic jam in Klang and slow speed driving (finding car park). I had covered about 120km before the tank was filled up with Shell. when it was last with Petron it was still showing around 10.6l/100km, but after just a short 25km drive of the recently filled up Shell, now its showing 11.1L/100km (I took photos of the trip meter and the avg fuel consumption before this incident happened) And furthermore yesterday when i took it for a drive nearby, without triggering the turbo boost and driving as gently as possible, with the aid of the Instant Fuel Consumption reading, the moment i reached home and turn off the engine, the fan started running Previously with Petron, it didnt trigger the fan on gentle drives. And the fc seems to has gotten worse (from 10.6l/100km to 11.1l/100km) with gentle drives Now i know that if one were to frequently drive with the turbo boost activated, it will activate the fan. However yesterday i was driving real gentle, doing max speed only 65km/h. So i could only comment that Shell does bring some noticeable effect to Exora's engine. For me, I find that Shell, Petron and BHP give about the same fuel consumption figures. Only Petronas consistently gives not-as-good fuel consumption figures. However, my reason for disliking Shell is that I find it makes the car vibrate a little more than usual compared to BHP or Petron. Currently trying out Caltex after hearing many good things about it. Just filled up my EB with Caltex RON95 yesterday. Will try it out for a few tanks and see how it is This post has been edited by YouDontKnowMyName: Dec 6 2014, 01:44 PM |

I also dun like Shell cause I used it for other cars, and it never lives to it's tagline: Designed to last longer per tank. Caltex in Subang quite hard to get. I only know SS14, Sunway (opposite Sunway Pyramid) and USJ 16. Thats all in whole of Subang. BTW, yesterday I went out with my other car, stop by at BHP (next to SJBA Vihara) and wash my car for only RM 3 |
