QUOTE(l3iTi @ Dec 3 2014, 09:34 AM) How soon you will go to do sound/heat proof on your car? Didn't do soundproof, so can't answer you. After warranty? or within warranty? I'm interested to get it done by shorty...any comment whether the effects are really noticeable? I think you should drive the car first, then figure out which part of noise you want to reduce, then tackle it. |

One of the thing I found out, comparing Shell and Petronas fuels, is that Shell has higher volatility at low temperature...

QUOTE(vivakarna @ Dec 8 2014, 04:51 PM) Better like how? Please elaborate.XM2 up to R16. PS3 up to R19. From this perspective, we can roughly tell which market segment they are designed for. - FC: XM2 > PS3 - Wet grip: PS3 > XM2 - Treadwear Others: Load and speed index XM2 = 91V PS3 = 91W BAX2 = 91V |

QUOTE(vivakarna @ Dec 8 2014, 05:20 PM) Perhaps you should be looking at Michelin Primacy series. It is built for comfort and quiet.QUOTE(Bent_Gee @ Dec 8 2014, 05:31 PM) all, I won't worry, if the fan turns on and off during normal engine running.just wondering, previously my EB will run the fan for a while when engine off (for cooling purpose if not mistaken), but after this few day, there are no fan running or sound appeared after engine off, even when i return from long trip. is dat normal?? help pls,, Usually, when the aircon is running, both the radiator fans will spin up... so, when you stop the car, the temp is lower than if you would drive without aircon. Best way to know, is to have a way to read coolant temperature, such as with the OBD2. My experience, after I drive slow and steady, the likeliness of fan spin-up after engine off is higher because coolant temp is higher. When I drive faster, ambient airflow is faster to cool down the engine bay... |

QUOTE(trapeze @ Dec 12 2014, 12:29 AM) Just done my appointment check today @ Pg SC, after communication with wecare (mail). Fix some minor issues as below: You were in sungai Pinang sc today?1) Reset the wiper, as stop in middle 2) Tighten the lower arm as minor sound passing bump 3) Break hose breathing for 4 wheel, as brake freeze (hard) sometime 4) Reverse engine die, Software adaptation done. Asked the foreman to service / clean the engine throttle body, he claimed its only applicable for CPS model. Will need to monitor to see any re-occurrences. Meanwhile did checked with the foreman on grounding cable, his advice was putting 7 points grounding instead of just 3-5 point. |

I was looking for paint coating for a while. Those I found, are silica rich coating, supposed to increase surface hardness and smoothness.
The benefits, longer lasting gloss, protection against chipping and hairline scratches, and good water beading. Downside, is that the surface needs to be treated with car. It needs to be washed and handled properly for it to last long, and more importantly for the warranty to remain. |

QUOTE(hokuan @ Dec 17 2014, 08:27 PM) Hi Dear Exora Owners, my friend offered me a second hand Exora, I'm quite interested in buying it, however there's one issue that I'm not sure about the car. Is it Exora CFE or CPS?During start up, the engine will be loud, and can be heard throughout the drive. There is also a rhythm of chocking sound during drive, maybe it is the turbo sound? What is the service record? How old the car, and mileage? Suggest you test drive another unit to compare. EB engine is loud but not harsh, and there is considerable amount of cabin noise, mainly from CVT whirring or humming sound. Another loud noise would come from the radiator fan, but it is barely noticeable inside the car compared to CVT sound. Turbo sound is like whistle, and it comes and goes as you press the throttle. Choking rhythm? Can you describe it? |

QUOTE(hokuan @ Dec 17 2014, 09:48 PM) CFE, almost 2 years I think. The choking can be felt from the engine, hard to describe, but from your experience with Exora, everything is smooth from the engine? Well, when you release throttle, it will jerk a bit.As you press it down, it's fine. Go youtube and look for Exora\Suprima\Preve CFE videos and you'll see. |
