QUOTE(yuka @ Oct 9 2007, 01:27 PM) Bioshock needed SM3.0 gc to play while ur gc is only support SM2.0. However all is not lost, there is one way you can run BioShock with an SM2.0 card, and that's by trying the SM2.0 Project. what is SM?anyway i'll try it first. thanks

I think SM means Shader Model...his GC isn't a card with Shader Model 3.0 IMHO...

RAM at least 1GB. And your GC must be at least a 7series and above for good gameplay experience.

Well, for me running Core2Duo 2.2GHz, 8600gts 256mb and 2gb of RAM, with all the settings on high (but AA turned off), I don't get acceptable frame rate at 1680x1050 (my monitor native res) ... bioshock really has some high requirements for it to look kickass AND have smooth framerate ...

Just scaledown to 1280x960 and you will noticed smooth frame rate. Your card cant manage that kind of resolution. Even 8800GTS 320mb would struggle.

Problem is though (and this pisses me off) ... if I scale down to a 4:3 resolution (1024x768 etc), then when stretch to fill the screen it looks weird (cos of widescreen monitor). But then if I scale down to a widescreen resolution, when I stretch for some reason my monitor stretches horizontally but not vertically ... so looks even more weird. Attached thumbnail(s)

Finally get my hands on this game, it's so amazing and I get the feeling like when I start playing oblivion. Hope this game is long enough and fun enough~~~ Quite surprise that my comp can handle this game, Core 2 2.0Ghz, 2Gb Rams and nVidia go7600, the frame rate drop when there's lots of of object appear on the screen, otherwise it's still smooth enough. (The default graphic setting on my comp is "high" but I manually turn of the post graphic setting) Anyway I am using a wide screen monitor as well, too bad there's no lower resolution beside 1280x960... Anyway I am at the begining of the game, I got a feel that we got to fight the "big Daddy" in future, do we?

When in mid game, kiling them is much more easier already. This game is really fantastic!! This is the only FPS that hooks me up for so long. The plot, storyline, settings is really very unique and interesting. And surprisingly the game is really optimized, congrats to the developer. Even with mid-end rig the game look gorgeous. Albeit the long loading times only.
