Believe me. I've tried so many solutions before for this kind of BSOD. Chin said that it's common for 8.1 pro to have BSOD once or twice a week. But AFAIK, a couple of users here did not experience frequent BSOD as I do.

Of course the good ol DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE. Enabled driver verifier, found nothing.

Exactly the same as last time it did. After the "ILLEGEAR" splash, the screen goes black and 30 seconds later get a blue screen.

The time xarive dropped by our office he mentioned that he gets BSOD once to twice a MONTH and after some considerations we changed his RAM and screen (human error scratch) without even tested it for verification because it's gonna take a very long time if we really wanted to find out the root cause.

I also told him that there are way too many reasons that can cause BSOD besides hardware, it could be due to software, driver or hybrid drive crash. If there is something wrong with anyone of these, crashing twice per month is normal. I did not say Windows 8.1/8.1 Pro users will definitely get BSOD error twice per WEEK please understand what am I talking about.

xarive, if you wish, you can leave your laptop here for a month so we can have it completely tested.

Thank you.

First of all, I didn't intend to flame anyone. No hard feeling. If I offended anyone, I am so sorry.

Regarding the BSOD issue, I am clearly remember that I told you it happened once or twice a week. I still remember you said that if it's occurring once a week, and your working days are Monday to Friday. If during that week, the BSOD doesn't happen, I'll need to wait another week or more, and it could drag as long to months for you guys to determine the issue. So you decided to change the RAM and also together with the screen for me (much appreciated). Trust me, I'm very grateful for that. No other brands in the market could do that (to date). In my interpretation during your statement that day, BSODs are normal for 8.1 Pro users to have BSOD issue once a week or two (Of course it is not definitely ). After the awful adventure I had to get myself to the showroom (19th March), the next BSOD happened today 6th April. (More than a week.)

Illegear still maintaining their good after-sales service after all. ( Changing the screen for free, changing the RAM directly for me ).

For now, I am planning to get a clean installation of either 8.1 Pro or wait for the Windows 10. What I am seeking for is anyone share the same experience like me? Or a better suggestion to solve this problem. That's my primary intention.

P/S: It's okay, I barely could make my trip to KL anymore. Say Hi and thanks to Uncle Roger for being so friendly and his user-friendly road map. nod.gif

I'll try with fresh installation of either 8.1 or wait for the 10. What's your suggestion on this ? And regarding the one week or one month , it doesn't matter anymore lol. (I'm still insisting on the one week).

Erm.. If Windows 8.1 is a must for you, then try a clean installation first. Make a system restore point before you update it. Then update your windows and drivers and create a new restore point. Try and see for about a few weeks or months. If there is still BSOD, revert to the restore point which doesn't have any windows update.

If you want to do it the hardcore way, test it for every software you're using.
I suspect it may be software driver issue. May I know did you install any pirated stuff ? If I remember correctly, last time I tried to use a pirated P2POver on win8.1, in the end my system file is corrupted and poof BSOD sweat.gif

Oh ya, try removing all USB plugged device, be it mouse or hdd or any other thing before you shut down your laptop.

P/S: If your data is not really important to you and you don't mind your data is gone, you already can download the Tech Preview of Windows 10. It is quite stable as of now, but no full features yet. It seldom crash or BSOD, but incase sh*ts happen, I would want you to know beforehand.

From the website, it is still IPS/AHVA screen. So either the website is outdated, or they are using a different brand screen.
