As for the upgrade, IC Diamond is a must if you're planning to game, you can upgrade your screen or ssd but it will cost quite a lot and most probably exceed 4k

consider upgrade your wifi card to N (AC not necessary cuz most ppl don't use router that have AC support)

also warranty.. if you want longer support from them

z5 should be their custom made laptop.. it's one-of-a-kind
I got myself a z5. So far still setting up all the thing I want. Won't be gaming very soon as there's too much project
But what I can tell is it's quite a good build. Very quiet under normal usage
Not sure 970m version of z5 will come out soon or not.. They seen to have other more laptop gonna release..

Hey bro, you play dota 2 ? I just tried out it.. but got no idea why my gameplay is not smooth
I got my fps to consta nt 60 with v-sync on.. but when moving the "camera view/pan" it's not smooth.. and while my hero is moving with the angle view locked on them, you can clearly see the animation of the hero is not smooth (Eg: sniper cape when he's moving doesn't wave smoothly.. it's like spike)

I not sure.. but i think it's due to the settings of nvidia i use.. I also feel weird cause running D2 shouldn't be a problem.. other z5 user all face non of this problem.. But at least illegear is actively helping me to resolve the issue right now.

I also think maybe it's cause of the settings. Can you share me your Bf4 settings ? Will try it out later when I'm free to download it.

You're using win 8 or 8.1 pro and your wifi card is AC right ? Prince J told me that we need to install the bluetooth driver from the official website cause the driver provided in the CD is not for AC card..

As for the QTradio I still dono how to fix it.. so i just ignore it

So far just when playing dota 2 in local lobby it is not smooth..

I tried COD:AW.. it's damn smooth in 1080p with high settings.. haven't try out ultra settings
The cooling is indeed top notch.. Played Advanced Warfare for about 1 hour, temperature of gpu & cpu are both 60+ degree c on average.. (I also wonder how come when I'm gaming the fan is so damn quiet.. in the end the fan is not at max speed )

After finding out the Max Fan "secret", the average of gpu & cpu temperature become 50+ !
Btw I underclocked my gpu and cpu.. it indeed lower some temperature also.. performance not much different

So far this laptop is superb
except for the weird scenario I got in dota 2

P/S: The max speed fan is quite noisy though.. But I still can tahan.. just when playing game at outside everyone will turn around and wonder where's the sound come from.. lol

I'm using HWMonitor.. It's a very popular tools.. You can dl CPU-Z and GPU-Z to see your cpu and gpu status also..
For me it's decent lar.. cause never really have a gaming laptop before.. so I still feel kinda warm in the middle and right part of the keyboard.. mostlyl the gpu and cpu is located at there..

With max fan then it's a bit noisy but the keyboard remain quite cool.. not so warm compared to no max fan..

Just tried out BF4.. been playing for 2 hours..
This is what I get after 2 hours of BF4 w/ max fan speed and intel turbo boost OFF:


The machine is really good in cooling.. even better than Acer Nitro

Actually i underclocked my gpu and cpu.. it helped to drop a few degree c.. lol xD

I just updated my driver.. but it seems that I can't underclock my gpu ad.. lol
I got post the default temperature w/o underclock.. but not ss.. Not like I need to purposely play a game just to take ss right ? XD

Yea i used IC Diamond thermal paste..

Nop.. no idea.. But for FPS i do know, get Fraps.. when you installed it and open the program during you're gaming.. the fps will be shown on top left corner..

So far you tried what game ? I played BF4 but half way crash.. i suspect is the game problem.. cuz I'm using ahem ahem version of BF
Advanced Warfare is more optimum that BF4 sia.. I can play AW with high settings in 1080p w/ 60fps++.. BF4 just get 40fps+.. but under 768p can get 60fps+

Ya.. it's 150W. Most ppl don't encourage overclocking your gpu / cpu.. You could try MSI Afterburner to tweak ur gpu settings.. I used to use that to underclock my gpu.. but now dono why after driver update (v347.09) I can't do it anymore
Do let me know if you manage to underclock/overclock using Afterburner..

P/S: if you dono what you are doing, better don't overclock your gpu..

Yup using 1080p resolution.. Yea it's like that.. after few days you will get use to it..

For the text blurry, it's not everything is blurry right ? Just certain program have this issue correct ?

If it's like that, sadly to say, it's windows OS problem..

Windows OS is not like Mac OS which everything will scale accordingly to the resolution.. Windows OS's text/font will remain the same size as in higher resolution.. so you can notice in your google search result page, your left side will have a lot of free space

Change back your resolution to 1080p, then go to Ctrl Panel > Appearance & Personalization > Display, change the size of all items to Small / 100%.. default is Medium / 125%
The blurry text problem should be fixed..

P/S: jst use 1080p.. after few days you will get use to it

Yea windows is like that.. not like Mac.. Mac will scale everything according to the resolution..

Lucky I'm used to small font size.. I like small font as it looks neater XD
