Choose upgrade first, right on top on your 8.1 to have your pc recognized by microsoft server. You only have to do this once.

After that, you can go to Recovery > Reset , which is the same as clean install. smile.gif

After that, when you go online, your pc will automically activate by itself no matter how many times you clean install. Change HDD also never mind, as long as motherboard stay.

I'm kinda a win 10 noob. I'm using win 8.1 on a PC.. So upgrade should be ok.

But let say I want to use win 10 on my Macbook, is it possible? I have 2 win 8.1 licenses.

force to enter cmd as admin, type "net stop wuauserv" and "net stop bits". then go c>windows>software distribution to delete all the files
and spam retry download windows update only work
but this time tried more than 10 times also won't work
guess is time to do a clean install wink.gif

Download more RAM they say... biggrin.gif

On a serious note, 4GB is barely enough but I never have freezing issue with Windows 10 ever (or windows 7 or 8 for that matter).

My guess probably you hard disk is about to fail ?

Clean reinstall can halp but make sure all the bios are updated (if your laptop is old).

Does it really help?

I'm using 8GB ram and I think it is more than enough to keep the application running.

Oh damn....don't tell me it's time. Can torrent cause the hard disk fail? Mine as well just change the HDD now, better than never haha

Mine is just 1 year Dell tho...is that consider old already?
