ASN3 Annual Report 2014 Booklet is out.
it's seem that total units have grow over 400% from previous years but bad news is blended ROI is only 2.21% compare with 10.86% for 2013 divvy are mosly from reserved income. (Total divvy paid is 51mil vs actual income 19mil) |

Check your EPF online now!
Dividend for 2014 is in there now! If my calculation is correct, it is 6.716%! P/S No need to calculate to find out how much it is. Stated in there as 6.75%!!! See the bottom of the 2014 statement. This post has been edited by plumberly: Feb 7 2015, 09:16 PM |

QUOTE(backspace66 @ Feb 8 2015, 01:46 PM) what a waste of time putting my epf money in as1m. I am not going to invest in as1m anymore through epf account 1, rathet wait for the right moment to enter UT In the past, AS1M has been better than EPF in dividend %. For the first time, this EPF is now 0.15% better.I would not worry too much on this as the difference is small, EPF may go back to its old trend (lower than AS1M) and they are both better than FD! If it is using EPF $ to buy FD, then it is another story! Ha. Cheer up! P/S Sorry, I jump to conclusion too hastily. For the millionaires, 0.15% is still important to you. 0.15% of RM1 million, RM5 millions are RM1,500 & RM7,500 which are no small amounts. A few nights of good dinner. Ha. QUOTE(nexona88 @ Feb 8 2015, 05:35 PM) Me too. In fact, shocked rather than just surprised. I thought it would be 5.25% considering the coming gloomy economy in 2015/16. Though EPF has done well in 2014, I thought it would be saving some money for future dividends. But I was wrong.Prior to 2014, ASX have always done better than EPF and I was planning to shift some EPF money to ASX. But 2014 result, though it is good, throws my plan into the drain. Ha. One thing at the back of my mind is, EPF reports RM x billions. Are these $ on paper or real assets (not inflated assets)? Who is auditor for EPF? Stupid question, cannot trust 100% even in international auditors now. Taking my family out for a good dinner tonight. Courtesy of EPF! Ha. Cheerio. |

I don't think EPF have the c/fwd income policy like ASx Prior to 2014, ASX have always done better than EPF and I was planning to shift some EPF money to ASX. Cheerio. better not "transfer" your ASx $$ to EPF. better to diversify. for the auditors thingy, I think should be the top companies like Deloitte, EY, PwC & KPMG. but as u said, I also doubt their accounts.. We cannot "touch" the money like until 55yo that brings me to ASx.. what they actually do with our c/fwd income. please don't tell me they juz keep it without earning some income from it. in the annual report, didn't clearly state it not forgetting in ASW2020, don't even state fully which company they invested. only show top 20 This post has been edited by nexona88: Feb 8 2015, 06:44 PM |

I guess I'm one of the very few who's very worried about EPF's high dividend distribution. Mainly because EPF's mandate for equity should not exceed 45% of the VOF and MGS are yielding next to nothing. Everyone knows that KLCI had negative returns FY2014
EPF is supposed to be conservative in terms of its investment outlook and when it starts to performing better than equity heavy growth funds, I'm getting scared. How do you get returns that doubles MGS in a year when the local stock market had about -10% returns? I hope that they're not delving into some weird derivatives or options or futures thingy because like me, 99.99999% of Malaysians rely on EPF for retirement. Then again, maybe it's just me. |

I have not checked to verify but most of my friends r telling me EPF's benchmark for dividend is Tabung Haji's dividend.
If this's true then it's not entirely look at EPF's performance. |

My 2 cents ...

But for those who traded during the year, instead of just buy and hold, EPF could still have made some money. If you looked at the buy-sell data from KLCI, EPF is one of the most active guys there. I am sure there are UT out there which made some money despite the negative KLCI. Furthermore, EPF also traded in foreign shares. E.g. Alibaba which it has made a handsome profit. Don't know whether it is paper profit i.e. whether EPF has sold that shares or not. EPF is supposed to be conservative in terms of its investment outlook and when it starts to performing better than equity heavy growth funds, I'm getting scared. If someone knows otherwise, please share here. Then again, maybe it's just me. |

TH don't invest in conventional banks or partial-sin listed companies like BAT while EPF does invest in it.. not forgetting the EPF fund is way much bigger than TH |

Even it is not wise to withdraw from EPF to pay off housing loan as some did, for obvious reason,ie EPF rate of constantly deliver 6% return vs mortgage rate of 4.5%. Having said that, even ASx fixed price fund offers slightly lower than EPF, it offers other benefit such as its liquidities, some banks do take in annual ASx dividend as income. |
