I heard that there are news saying that PNB would form a new system whereby non-bumi might not be able to try their luck over the counter next year..
Have you guys heard of anything as such? |

if i put max rm200k in my asb, let say first dividen is 8%, then my money will become 216 000, but for 2nd year, if the dividen is 8%, will it multiply by 216 000 or 200 000 tq |

QUOTE(azlansani @ Nov 25 2014, 08:09 AM) sorry if this question has been asked before, The 2nd year dividend will be calculated based on 216k; and without sounding condescending, you may want to read on compounding interest (just google it).if i put max rm200k in my asb, let say first dividen is 8%, then my money will become 216 000, but for 2nd year, if the dividen is 8%, will it multiply by 216 000 or 200 000 tq The maximum limit for your own ASB account would increase as your dividend increases. If I am not mistaken, the limit stays as high even after withdrawing a portion of the funds. |

Ill be honest, Ive never been asked that question before, nor have I heard if there was any hard limit on it. But have you considered any other investment schemes that don't have any limit at all? At 8% p.a it's not exactly the best performing funds out there. This post has been edited by wild_card_my: Nov 25 2014, 09:52 AM |

QUOTE(champu @ Nov 25 2014, 01:30 PM) True, but with the limit of RM200k per person (not inclusive of the increased limit from dividend growth) means one day you would need to look for other avenues of investments anyway. Market volatility can be managed by a divestment when the time is right. Not to mention that even in the past 10 years and with a consistent return of 8.5~% per annum, there are many funds that out-performed ASB handily. Perhaps I should note that I am referring to ASB as a whole and not the other funds managed by ASNB.Now have ever wondered how ASB has been able to give a consistent return in the past few decades? Take note that they have been able to consistently give dividends during the good as well as the bad times. It says a lot that they are probably keeping reserves during the good time, which explains the low returns of 8.5% when other funds are giving much more than that and on the other hand, used the reserves to give 8.5% during the bad times when other funds are giving negative returns. But sure, if your investment scope stays within 5 years. the ASNB funds may be the better choice. But for most who are preparing for their retirements, there are many other (not necessarily better) avenues of investments. This post has been edited by wild_card_my: Nov 25 2014, 01:53 PM |
