QUOTE(Ancient-XinG- @ Sep 22 2014, 08:41 PM) Am actually pretty confused with these two, all I understood when the Maybank rep was telling that there are 3 diff types of investment under ASG, whereas ASN 3 is basically the same as ASN 1&2 but price of units increases. |

Acah-acah or for real on pulling out of 1MDB funding?selling by foreign funds in Bursa. geopolitical tensions in the Middle East all these effect world market incl KLCI & variable pricing ASNB funds |

is investing in ASN 3 or ASG better? which would experts here suggest?
ASN 3 price has gone 20+ cents in the 10 years its in operation, is there a potential for more growth, or money better invested into ASG instead? The fund Persaraan is now hovering around 1.25++ when I checked last week |

QUOTE(bumble_b33 @ Oct 10 2014, 05:40 PM) Cause feeling like wanna withdraw soon as i will need money in next year time. when investing in ASG, your best bet would be at least 2-3 years to see a profit. This would of course be based on the funds performance.initially was planned for 1 year investment, but i guess 1 year time will i get some profit or still losing ? Definitely not for short term as you stand to lose on admin and in your case price per unit. This post has been edited by champu: Oct 10 2014, 05:47 PM |

QUOTE(bumble_b33 @ Oct 14 2014, 08:36 PM) Need your advice guys.. I am no expert but let's do some arithmetic hereASG kesihatan (RM 40k bought) 1.1771 bought on this with this price on July 2014 1.1382 market value now Now i owe credit card around 10k, should i withdraw ASG to pay credit card ? 1. withdraw take how long ? instant ? can withdraw half investment only ? 2. keep the ASG and pay the interest on cc card better or inverse ? Sad sad.. for 40k your total shares bought would be 33,981 at the price of 1.771. Assuming you withdraw total sum you invested, you stand to gain 38k, which puts you at a loss of 2k. Why don't you consider paying instalment instead? there is a small interest (8%?) but at least its better than paying 18% interest charges if youre paying min pymt's talk to your bank, maybe you can plan clearing yr pymt for 6-12 months instead of paying a lump sum |

QUOTE(nexona88 @ Oct 20 2014, 05:09 PM) I think no problem if no activity unlike banks account.. how to have activity if always need to try luck & most time no unit available Fair point, but interesting question also...does bank treat these funds as your typical savings acct? i.e. close after inactivity for a certain period of time My guess is one way to keep your acct active is to keep the book updated at least once a year when the dividend is announced. |

QUOTE(plumberly @ Oct 21 2014, 04:44 PM) I heard that updating passbook does not count as an activity as far as the 7 yrs in-active account goes. This is true for savings acct, but are the ASx categorised as savings or investments?Need to have account holder doing withdrawal or deposit transactions. Yes, weird ruling. That is what I heard form my wife who used to work in a bank. Cheerio. |
