I'm impressed 4Mb can stream youtube @1080p smoothly.
*
It depends on location and situation. Some 4Mbps connections can go up to 5-6Mbps download speed which is enough for smooth 1080p 30fps videos on Youtube. If you're under this category, than you're a lucky customer. smile.gif

its depend on your IP also. If you get bad IP, restart your  modem

May not always work if you happen to be assigned to a certain IP range.

hi,
anyone experience buffer video streaming during afternoon onward?

i always have this problem. in the morning can streaming hd video smoothly but during afternoon or like 11.30am suddenly got buffer and struggle to play even 360p video. is this normal? speedtest look normal, just when streaming it seem like speed is limit somehow. i tried download a video using idm and the speed only reach 50kbp+. but when i download the same video using jdownloader, the speed is normal 4mbp download.

anyone know why?

-.- It is 11:00am until 1:00am.
Ipv6 youtube throttling at 50kb/s.

Disable IPv6 and you will be fine.

Welcome to Malaysia.

Yes, really. The problem has been there since year 2012 for streamyx users. (and unifi VDSL users)

Judging from your post just now, you are still using ipv6.....

Just asking if any streamyx user had encounter problem where images loaded get distorted ( colour might be distorted/ image tearing) when browsing or downloads keep failing or corrupted? I am having such issue for a long time and I am trying to determine if it is due to the copper cable issue or other issue.

I had tested with a number of modem/ router but issue persist over all of them. Tried to call TM to check but they came when I was working and my housemate let him off without resolving the issue. Unless I can at least have an idea, I don't think TM is going to come and fix it after the last call.

Buy new pc please.

Image distortion --> RAM problem, GPU problem
downloads keep failing or corrupted --> HDD problem, unable to write properly

If it is pc problem, I tested the same pc in different places (different houses) and there wasn't any problem. Then, I brought another laptop to test the issue. Only happened in one of the house I am renting, that is why I asked. Secondly, image tearing/ corrupted images doesn't even happened when I game, only the images that was browsed.

from Penang too, some sites like reddit.com cannot load most of the time, always timeout. other sites fine though, and when used VPN reddit loads like normal.

same with some games like Guild Wars 2, this Feb there was huge packet loss when hop reach Dallas Tier 3 servers.

suspect something is bad with the route that our ISP TMnet Streamyx uses to connect to these servers. try complaining to support.

May I know what ping reading I should be getting from 4mbps streamyx? Mine is always around 50-80ms which my Digi LTE can be even better.
