I plan to upgrade from 4mbps to 8mbps, but no port sad.gif
4mbps you need to pay to add hypp TV. But my neighbours are using 8mbps, and technician said my house can support up to 21mbps.. sadly TM just doesnt let me upgrade

Mercy on you hoho. How can till 0mbps? huhu where is your location? I think either your modem or the infrastructure (TM line/port) problem. I just follow up with TM. They working on it to come to my home today.

Biasa la bro.... Kampung.. Previously I am using the streamyx at my house in the city. Then I transfer it to my hometown. Everytime doing speed test 0.2 the highest. Dunno because of the infrastructure there or what. Got one time, my sister complain to me because of the speed too slow, 0.0 Mbps (the number is too small so the speed test just detect 0.0). She need to send her design proposal to her customer and it took ages to upload (kampung also got drawing design people do business online la TM, faster la put unifi there).
Then I saw your post of the speed should be 512 kbps or at least 80 % of it. Later balik kampung wanna ask TM to reset port. bangwall.gif

stock modem is more than enough.

for bandwidth control/qos, u need 3rd party modem from other vendor like tplink.

router and modem is two different thing.

in simple word, adsl modem is a device that convert data transmission or signal from digital to analog / analog to digital between tm and you.

while router is a device which act as an access point for internet access, beside it also allow internet sharing for multiple user and may equip with wireless connectivity feature.

and currently, there is all in one modem which combine of both modem and router function into single device. for example, tm stock modem.

for bandwidth control, u need to get 3rd party modem for this. u can look for some tplink all in modem, they got this feature. if u unsure, can ask seller about it.

Not exactly. To simplify it, the modem is the box you connect to the phone line to get an internet connection. You connect the router to the modem to "convert" the internet connection to WIFI.

For streamyx 4mb, TM provides a modem+router combo, basically a 2-in-1 device. However, you can buy a router with more functions, like bandwith control, and hook it up to your modem+router, no problem. I replaced mine with this TP-Link modem router...

Thanks bro. I made a report through dialiong #100.. Let's see if that report helps. If not, I'll head to MCMC and get the 8mbps upgraded.. I'd rather pay the same amount for 8mbps and hypp TV..

sure.. if 1mb / 2mb streamyx upload only 384, around 0.2x only

mine 8mb capp 639, around 0.5x only
*
Ya. Agreed on the speed for streamyx 1mbps which my previous package used. The upload speed is 384 but if not mistaken I got the same upload speed as mentioned 38kb/s. I just wondering this 4mbps having quite the same upload speed. Somehow looks like throttled/limit already.

Its okay then. Yesterday they came, and do some inspection the speed and looks improved. Refer below tested speed.

So far using TP-Link Modem Router looks stable and okay for me. But the settings inside the control panel are so advanced till sweats during the first setup. So pening.

To compare with other modem like DLink/Aztech, if not mistaken their control panel are more user friendly based on my IT knowledge n experience.
