I guess TM only offers Streamyx to new subscribers if UniFi is NOT available at the area.

But now they themselves got no port to offer me, so by right they should compensate by offering fastet streamyx. Crazy!

probably the only way is to try get neighbors who also want UniFi but no port together make a request. If enough subscribers, they will install additional ports

meanwhile, while waiting, you may want to consider a cheap but high quota mobile data plan to use while waiting.

Make sure you subscribe to those with NO contract.

Hi guys, I recently move in to my new house and finally subscribed to streamyx 4mbps as this is the highest speed currently available in my area. I would say that I totally noob and had been reading this thread for more info on how to optimize my connection in terms of speed and efficiency. So, many thanks to fellow contributors on this thread.

As I am totally noob, I would need few advises. TM had give me Innacomm W3410N as my modem. My normal devices that will be connected to the streamyx are 2 laptops, 2 smartphones, 1 ipad and 1 ps4 for online gaming. I also installed and android box and myIPTV as I terminated my astro when moving out from my old house.

From my reading, I found that one of the way to make the connection more stable, fast and efficient is to use a third party router. So I had communicated with one seller from the garage sales and told her my requirements. So she advice me to consider adding a router, TL-WR1043ND tplink. Just for info, I did not tell her my budget as I want her initial suggestion is not limited to my budget constraint.

So, what do you guys think about this suggestion? Will this improve my connection or should I just use my current modem or is there a better router out there? Any advises are greatly appreciated. notworthy.gif notworthy.gif notworthy.gif

Thanks bro. May I know how many devices are connected to your streamyx and did you notice any performance drop if many devices connected and use at the same time?

Got a called to upgrade my Streamyx 2mb plan (currently paying @ rm110) plan to 4mb (offer price is rm120 instead of rm140).

didn't get to ask further, as got meetings. question, does the offer with reset contract period or contract follow the old package?

Innacomm w3410n ---> Yes, it is sucks.

Why?

Company Info http://www.innacomm.com.my/

Innatech Sdn.Bhd. (Innatech) is a Bumiputra status company, established in 1998, originally with principal activities in engineering works and marine related services for the shipping industry in Sabah.

Whilst still actively engaging activities in the same industry, our expansionary strategy in 2001 had driven our company to venture seriously into Information Communication Technology (ICT), concentrating in the telecommunication sector as one of our core activities.

So......you know...I know lah......on why that router sucks......
