QUOTE(magika @ Nov 11 2014, 03:07 PM) Its 6 months 4.00% 9months 4.15% with required Saving Account needed for interest crediting. Dont ask me why its needed? BSA or Basic Saving Account is to ensure we are not saddled with any yearly fees such as debit card fees and the likes. yup, i open RHB BSA with rm100 deposit yesterday for credit FD interest. When I said i dun wan the card that charged RM8 per year, the girl at counter give me the "u r kiam siap" look....

If no debit card because you said dont wan loh...if passbookless and no atm card then how to check account ? Heh..heh.. you need to go RHB beg for Atm debit card . Normally most banks will tend to discourage opening of BSA, but like I said, insistence and perseverance will pave the way. Basic Sav Acct (option 1) is RHB BSA . The RHB 9m 4.15 will credit the interest on every month or only at the maturity date? It will credit interest on maturity to casa. Why, dont know leh? For BSA its important that you choose Option 1 as no yearly charges for ATM card. Option 2 has yearly RM8 fees. BSA is a mandatory saving account that Bank Negara requires all banks to offer. It has limited withdrawal per month so wont be that useful as a main savings account. Last time we applied for it due to lower Giro charges.

QUOTE(nubJeff @ Nov 11 2014, 09:05 PM) UOB better haha, 3 months 3.80% and others months can PM me for details We are here to share the info. not to sell or make a service out of the forum members. It is very annoying you claim it is better but dare not disclose the actual rate. Is this how UOB operate? I will check with UOB tomorrow on the banking policy on secret advertising.... It really bring down UOB reputation. Even though the rate is higher I wont trust this type of hidden service.

I m in need of transferring my funds from BR to RHB as my FD mature on this Friday. Since BR dont issue Banker Cheque nowadays, my option is limited. Anyone does Rentas with BR before ? Bro Magika, when you uplift FD, BR can transfer the funds via GIRO to any other bank account of your choice and the cost is only RM0.30. If you do it in the morning, the funds will be credited to yr nominated account that same evening. So mebbe a good idea to open the RHB Basic Savings Account first and provide them with the account number when u uplift the FD.

My maturity date is on Friday, Giro received in the evening means I can only do placement on the following Monday. I will be losing 3 days interest. Not going to argue with RHB when the fund doesnt reach in time as it will be my own fault. Those placing fd with RHB, does the bank accept banker cheque and consider the placement date on the same day itself ? Going to uplift in cash and going to nearby Affin for banker cheque.

I never deal with BR before but if BR can Interbank Giro, then BR is either the member bank of Malaysian Electronic Clearing Corporation Sdn Bhd (MyClear) or MEPS IBG payment system. The timing of fund clearance should be the same as other member banks. You can go to BR in the morning opening hour to do the OTC IBG to your other bank's current account, the fund should be good in the afternoon. Then write a chq and bring to RHB for FD placement on Friday itself. This post has been edited by aeiou228: Nov 12 2014, 12:29 PM
